HOW I OVERCOME A CREATIVE BLOCK DURING A SHOOT. 🕴Just because I’ve been photographing couples for years, it doesn’t mean I always find the inspiration on the tip of my fingers; Sometimes, for reasons that might have nothing to do with the couple in front of me, the inspiration is just not coming to me, and panic starts creeping up; For a long time, this used to be my biggest fear, and ironically enough, the trigger to my blockage. It’s taken a lot of work, but I’ve learned to to control this fear with a few simple tricks which hopefully will help you too; First thing I do, is let the fear in & embrace it, I then try to take a second to myself to remind me that I am not a robot with a pre-programmed routine, I am a human being who sometimes need a moment to think my shots before I shoot them. I’ve also noticed that familiar situations tend to make me calm, so I always look for something existing in that situation, that has a commonality to something that I love; for instance, I love symmetry, I love clean lines and I love to add a bit of drama (what’s life without drama!) in my pictures. So in this case, the fact that they were dressed identically, that hey have similar physiques, and that our location was naturally symmetrical immediately brought creativity pouring in. ☺️🕺📸 How do you guys overcome your creative blocks?
