It's been a long long time! Life has been hectic and I've learned so much since I last checked in. Here's a Griffon Vulture I shot recently near my new hometown - Vic! I forget how to tag and all that so let's see how this is received.

I haven't posted in a while because I've been focusing a lot on sound recording birds. I have been taking photos I've just not had time to edit them. Here is a male Marsh Harrier I photographed this weekend at Estany d'Ivars, Catalunya. The male was repeatedly making close passes as it went to and from a small copse where it was collecting small branches to build the nest. A great thing to see as we rarely see males in Ireland where a few female/immature birds pass through or winter.

I recently had an amazing moment with three young wild boar who, totally aware of my presence, allowed me to approach and sit close-by, where I watched them feed for no less than 30 minutes. A lovely animal indeed.

Alpine Accentor. No matter how many times I see this high montane species I never fail to get excited, especially when they are running around my feet! This bird was part of a very obliging flock present at the peak of Turó de l'Home this weekend.

Fonts de Montjuïc, Barcelona. Catalunya is a region full of life and colour and there are always plenty of opportunities to photograph interesting scenes. This was my first time visiting this nightly fountain show and I'm looking forward to going again!
