Two artists. Two bodies of work. One conversation.

Join CAS Associate Artists Tina Scahill FRSA and Simon Peter Green ARPS for an informal conversation about the work they are showing in State of Flux.

They will share the thinking behind their work, exploring where their ideas began, how each project evolved, and the decisions, challenges and discoveries that shaped them. They will offer insight into their individual processes and the questions and meanings behind each body of work.

Tina will talk about Repetition Project, exploring feminist discourse and self, while Simon presents Cicerone GT, his contemporary reworking of the eighteenth century Grand Tour.

The conversation will be followed by a Q&A.

Rock against Racism 50th Anniversary 1976-2026

11 September 1976 for sixtysomethings seems like yesterday, for younger generations a date for the history books.

11 September 1976 a letter was published in the NME responding to Eric Clapton’s support for Enoch Powell's racism.

11 September 1976 an immediate and huge response. Rock against Racism the wonderful result.

Pat was walking the South Coast Path when I met him on his way to Weymouth. He said he was covering roughly 500 miles, walking around 30 miles a day and sleeping wild in a two-person tent.

When I asked why he was doing it, he said: “For no reason really. I needed a holiday and set myself a personal challenge.”

Good times at the opening of State of Flux, the CAS Associates Exhibition.

It was good to see everyone, chat and share ideas about our work.

And a special thank you to Will and Fiona, who have not only curated such a diverse show, but have given me a lot of extra time, energy and support getting ready for the exhibition.

Much appreciated.

Edgelands was made around the perimeter of We Out Here Festival, where the production meets the surrounding landscape.

I photographed hedgerows, fields and changing skies alongside fencing, cables, flight cases, portable toilets and temporary structures.

These practical objects are not meant to be noticed, but they make the event possible.

The perimeter sits between inside and outside, the natural and the built, the permanent and the temporary.

The work looks away from the main event and towards the materials and spaces that support it, and the temporary marks left on the land at St Giles House in Dorset.
