Suail es muy top. Es cantante, artista, modelo y muchas más cosas. No tengo tiempo para perder cuando tomo fotos creativas artísticas. Necesito un modelo que clava cada mirada y cada pose. El único problema que tengo con Suail es como elegir solo 20 fotos de cada setup de vestuario/fondo/luces porque siempre hay demasiadas fotos que brillan. No he tenido tiempo para entrar fotos en concursos últimamente, pero volveré a la tarea y con fotos así tengo muy buenas cartas para jugar.

Suail is top-tier. She is a singer, artist, model, and much more. I don't have time to waste when taking creative, artistic photos. I need a model who nails every look and every pose. The only problem I have with Suail is how to choose just 20 photos from each wardrobe/background/lighting setup because there are always too many standout shots. I haven't had time to enter photos into contests lately, but I'm getting back to it, and with photos like these, I have a very strong hand to play.

Organicé un día de prueba para nuevos talentos con Under Pleasure. Descubrí a Diana. Tiene mucha energía positiva. Dibujé encima de sus fotos. Tenían mucho espacio negativo aburrido. Llevo tiempo sin tener tiempo para dibujar encima de mis trabajos fotográficos. Ahora me gustan más las imágenes. Creo que las líneas y formas aumentan su movimiento y el efecto del soplador de hojas que le habíamos puesto para su pelo. Me gusta estar variando las fotos que hago. No quiero caer en la trampa de estar siempre haciendo lo mismo y, aún peor, igual que hacen los demás.

I organised a test shoot day with Under Pleasure for new talent. I discovered Diana. She has a lot of positive energy. I drew over her photos; they had a lot of boring negative space. It's been a while since I've had time to paint over my photographic work. Now I like the images more. I think the lines and shapes increase their movement and the effect of the leaf blower we used on her hair. I like varying the photos I take. I don't want to fall into the trap of always doing the same thing and, even worse, doing the exact same thing as everyone else.

The photos are just photos by me; they are outstanding models with exceptional makeup, and wonderful dresses in a fabulous venue.
So many people call me for a price quote for couple photo shoots and just don’t quite understand how much teamwork goes into doing a shoot. Anyone can just buy a camera and press the button on automatic, but lighting that is not flat and knowing how to direct models using Stanislavski method acting techniques—particularly if they are regular people and not pro models like here—is something else entirely. Doing a bit of makeup is one thing; getting Sofia’s eyes to look like Anca did here is another level. That takes a lot of years of skill development and hours on set.
People also think that just being in a photo is easy because everyone takes phone photos and selfies all day, every day. To actually know how to pose under studio lights in a proper setup with everyone there on set is completely different. Many people crumble and feel the pressure, or end up looking flat and boring. This is where the quality of models like Aleksei and Sofia comes in. And for anyone else, Aleksei is here this week in my studio for client coaching on how to project to the camera.

My double exposure digital composite photograph shot at the Under Pleasure event with the second photo from my Barrio de Lucero street photo series, entitled "Nocturnal," has been awarded Photo of the Day by Top Photo Awards.

I like to capture the essence of a person and combine that person with atmosphere. I am not like the vast majority of people; I don’t just want photos for the sake of photos. I have never understood that. Many people dislike that I prefer not to do generic phone photos, nor do I want to be in them or see them. I prefer real life and fantasy, and I just don’t feel a connection to all the daily phone documenting that everyone else loves to do.

Me gusta capturar la esencia de una persona y combinarla con la atmósfera. No soy como la gran mayoría de la gente; no quiero fotos simplemente por tener fotos. Nunca he entendido eso. A muchos no les gusta que prefiera no hacer fotos genéricas con el teléfono, ni quiero aparecer en ellas ni verlas. Prefiero la vida real y la fantasía, y simplemente no siento conexión con todo el registro telefónico diario que a todo el mundo le encanta hacer.

OnTheTable. Son un grupo de baile con talento y técnica evidentes, pero sobre todo energía, creatividad y originalidad. No me hacen las típicas fotos de baile que todos hemos visto mil veces. No parecen de un banco de imágenes ni genéricas de IA. Su personalidad les pone en otro nivel, lejos de los influencers de baile de TikTok que todavía tanto triunfan. Hay espacio para otro concepto. Hay espacio para artistas de verdad en un mundo de RRSS y banalidad. Quizás los auténticos artistas ganan menos likes que los mediocres, pero saben que son auténticos y esto vale muchísimo más.

OnTheTable. They are a dance crew with evident talent and technique, but above all, energy, creativity, and originality. They don't give me the typical dance photos we've all seen a thousand times. They don't look like a stock image or generic AI. Their personality puts them on another level, far from the TikTok dance influencers who still triumph so much. There is room for another concept. There is room for real artists in a world of social media and banality. True artists might get fewer likes than mediocre ones, but they know they are authentic, and that is worth so much more.

Exposiciones dobles y múltiples en la propia cámara. Esin es nuestra novia de fantasía. Actúa de maravilla. Los mejores modelos saben que ser guapo o guapa no basta por sí solo; un verdadero modelo interpreta el papel que le asigna el director o el fotógrafo. Sé ese modelo: el que aporta profundidad. Evita ser el «modelo» que se conforma con un feed genérico de expresiones vacías. Con la preparación, la orientación y la dirección adecuadas, es un mundo completamente diferente.

In-camera double and multiple exposures. Esin is our fantasy bride. She acts wonderfully. The best models know that being pretty isn't enough on its own; a true model acts out the role given by the director or photographer. Be that model—the one who brings depth.
