La magia ocurre cuando te atreves a ir contra corriente.

A veces, para crear algo realmente único, hay que romper las reglas establecidas. Aunque no es modelo profesional, el trabajo que logró esta clienta en esta sesión es sencillamente espectacular. Su capacidad para posar y transmitir intensidad frente a la cámara es digna de una profesional de la moda.

En mi estudio en Madrid, buscamos ese contraste donde la realidad se encuentra con una reinterpretación artística. He querido ir un paso más allá, interviniendo y pintando sobre la captura original para transformar la imagen y crear una atmósfera de cine negro en la versión en blanco y negro, y un efecto pictórico de medio cuadro en la versión en color.

¿Prefieres la pureza de la versión en color o la profundidad dramática del blanco y negro?

Magic happens when you dare to go against the grain.
Sometimes, to create something truly unique, you have to break the established rules. Although she is not a professional model, the work this client achieved in this session is simply spectacular. Her ability to pose and convey intensity in front of the camera is worthy of a fashion professional.

In my studio in Madrid, we seek that contrast where reality meets artistic reinterpretation. I wanted to go a step further, intervening and painting over the original capture to transform the image and create a film noir atmosphere in the black and white version, and a painterly half-frame effect in the color version.

Una serie en blanco y negro que captura la esencia del fabuloso Andrada bajo la lente ultra gran angular ojo de pez.

Quiero ir contra corriente. A veces, crear un universo paralelo; porque no, ¿por qué no? Para mí, todo lo que se sale de la línea recta vale la pena. Es mejor intentar algo y equivocarse que quedarse siempre en la zona de confort. Cuando pones un objetivo así en la cámara, ya sabes que nada va a ser "normal".

I want to go against the grain. I want to create a parallel universe sometimes; why not? To me, everything that steps outside the straight line is worth it. It is better to try something and make mistakes than to always stay in the comfort zone. When you put a lens like this on the camera, you know nothing is going to be "normal."

¿Cansado de las mismas fotos de estudio de siempre, esas que parecen cortadas con el mismo patrón y que ya has visto mil veces? En mis sesiones, mi objetivo es romper el molde. No busco lo convencional; busco crear imágenes que sean auténticas obras de arte, cargadas de creatividad, originalidad y, sobre todo, mucha diversión durante el proceso.

Me encanta trabajar con personas que buscan algo diferente, un resultado único que realmente merezca un lugar destacado en las paredes de su hogar. Si buscas una experiencia artística para inmortalizar los momentos más importantes de tu vida y quieres disfrutar de la sesión tanto como yo, entonces soy el fotógrafo que buscas. Si solo quieres fotos estándar que podrías conseguir en cualquier lugar, probablemente no encajemos.

Recientemente, tuve el placer de recibir en mi estudio en Madrid a una pareja encantadora: Maria y Corneliu, quienes acaban de darle la bienvenida a Hugo un bebé maravilloso (¡y super fuerte!). Capturamos esta etapa tan especial combinando mi estética de composites digitales con un toque nostálgico, creando retratos que se alejan de lo común para celebrar la llegada de una nueva vida.

My piece "Botanical Delirium No. 1," has been nominated in the 1839 Awards Color Photography Contest 2026 in the Professional Conceptual category.

The image is a surreal double exposure that merges a n**e male portrait in a digital composite with an ornate frame and artificial flora I found in the street in Madrid. This composition explores the tension between organic intensity and plastic artifice, using "crazy" hair and a piercing expression to redefine the stereotypical traditional floral still life.

A huge thank you to the model for this project Gem Deger, who is a talented actor, model, film director, and producer. His ability to bring such depth to this conceptual piece was essential.

La imagen es una doble exposición surrealista que fusiona un retrato masculino desnudo en una composición digital con un marco ornamentado y flora artificial que encontré en la calle en Madrid. Esta composición explora la tensión entre la intensidad orgánica y el artificio plástico, utilizando un cabello "alocado" y una expresión penetrante para redefinir el estereotipado bodegón floral tradicional.
Un enorme agradecimiento al modelo de este proyecto, Gem Deger, quien es un talentoso actor, modelo, director de cine y productor. Su capacidad para aportar tanta profundidad a esta pieza conceptual fue fundamental.

Photography is more than just capturing a moment; it is a canvas for creative exploration. It is a passion, a job, a profession, and a hobby all in one for me and for Aleksei Tiurin. I am a photographer and he is a model. This is not just an activity—it is part of who we are.

I have known Aleksei for years and we have shot many times together. Nobody comes close to him. He is a unique talent; he has something special inside. With many models, I have to help them find their direction, but with Aleksei, I just follow his lead. I coach people for public speaking, modelling, and screen acting, but with Aleksei, I just let him flow because he knows more than I do and I don’t want to cut his "thing."

Some people are born to do things; Aleksei was born to be a model.

For this series, while respecting the photograph itself, I additionally wanted to push the boundaries of portraiture by merging photography with digital illustration. After capturing these shots, I used my graphic tablet to hand-paint "digital splodges" and abstract shapes directly over the images, creating a "hybrid art" style that adds a new dimension to the portrait as an alternative.

These are the full-colour versions of the session captured at Yeguada Fernández de la Vega in the Under Pleasure Fotodays event. I also have these available in a black-and-white, high-contrast, grainy Fujifilm film-like aesthetic.

There were many people taking photos that day. If my pictures are not instantly clearly 100% recognisable as taken by me then they have no value as art. This is my challenge.

Now I will enter them into international photography awards competitions. If I am not at least finalist in them it will be a fail.

La distorsión no es un error, es una nueva forma de ver. 👁️‍🗨️

En esta serie, la realidad se curva a través de la lente ojo de pez, desafiando la linealidad del retrato tradicional para crear un diálogo visual donde los límites entre el sujeto y el espacio se disuelven. La geometría de la óptica TT Artisans, en mi Fujifilm XE5 con flash inalámbrico Godox AD200 Pro, me permite explorar una narrativa donde la actitud se impone sobre la forma.

El blanco y negro aquí no es nostalgia, es urgencia. Es una apuesta por la esencia pura, sin distracciones, enfocada únicamente en la intensidad del momento y la conexión entre los modelos.

Victor y Maryi no se quedan en la orilla tanteando el agua con timidez para probar la temperatura o la profundidad. No. Ellos se lanzan de lleno en sus papeles. Esta es la diferencia abismal entre alguien que simplemente desea ser modelo y alguien que realmente lo vive intensamente de manera camaleónica. Ser modelo de verdad es poseer el talento, la técnica y la capacidad absoluta de interpretar la visión del fotógrafo o director de video. Nuestras estrellas aquí lo logran de manera sobresaliente. Esta es la verdadera meta para todo aquel que sueña con esta profesión: no se trata solo de soñar, sino de convertir esos sueños en un tipo de realidad, una ficción que nunca existió hasta que se capturó en estas fotos, pero que a partir de ahora, durará para siempre.

True art is not a commodity; it is an act of sovereign expression. It is the manifestation of the individual voice, unfiltered and unapologetic. To create art is to do it your way, ensuring that every frame, every line, and every composition is an unmistakable signature of the creator. When a piece is indistinguishable from the endless, saturated pool of generic content, it ceases to be art—it becomes a product. And when you trade in products rather than vision, you are forced to compete on price alone, trapped in a race to the bottom where the only metric is cost.

Estoy completamente aburrido de la fotografía "correcta" interminable; si una foto no grita inmediatamente que es mía, no he hecho mi trabajo. Mi obra no trata de capturar la realidad ni de perseguir "likes", sino de crear un drama intenso y ficticio utilizando desde largas exposiciones estroboscópicas e iluminación claroscuro hasta pintura digital. Elijo trabajar con modelos como Bere porque tiene la actitud correcta, se adapta a la visión artística y colabora en lugar de simplemente posar. Esto es lo que hay, ni más ni menos, así que siéntete libre de que te guste o no, esa sigue siendo tu elección.

Lo llaman "lifestyle", pero seamos sinceros: es ese tipo perfecto de pseudoperiodismo de bodas pseudospontáneo. Está preparado, está dirigido y captura perfectamente esa energía eléctrica de la ciudad.
