Two people. Two countries. One life built somewhere in between.

This is what draws me to intercultural weddings more than anything else. Two people who found each other far from home, who built something new from two completely different worlds, two families, two ways of loving and celebrating and being together. And on their wedding day all of that becomes one room. One table. One story.

María and Romeo brought together two families who had never shared the same air before that day.

Sixty three people under the Empordà sky at Mas Gelabert in Pals, surrounded by olive trees and stone walls that have seen centuries of love pass by.

I always say the best weddings are not the biggest ones. They are the ones where every single person in the room was meant to be there.

This was one of those.

Some weddings don’t need hundreds of guests to fill a room with love. They just need the right ones.

María & Romeo chose 63 people who truly matter. And in that small circle, something extraordinary happened.

She arrived by golf cart with her father. Smiling. Completely herself.
And then came the vows.
I don’t know what they said to each other in that moment, those words belong to them. But I remember what happened in that place.

Friends who hadn’t cried in years were wiping their eyes.

I was wiping mine too, behind the camera.

That’s the kind of love that doesn’t perform. It just is.
Golden light, olive trees, words spoken from the heart and 63 people who love these two with everything they have.

María. Romeo. Thank you for letting me be there. 🤍

A photograph has never been just a photograph for me.

Long before I became a wedding photographer, I was already fascinated by people. Their stories, their dreams, their contradictions — their beauty and their vulnerability.

For the last 15 years, photography has taken me all around the world. I’ve witnessed love in many forms, cultures and languages. I’ve been invited into some of the most intimate moments of people’s lives.

But what I love most is not the destination, the venue or even the photograph itself.

It’s connection.

The moment someone forgets about the camera.
The moment they feel safe enough to be fully themselves.
The moment laughter becomes real, emotions take over, and something honest unfolds.

I don’t believe in perfection.
I believe in truth. In feeling deeply. In living fully.
In creating memories that still make your heart beat a little faster years later.

And perhaps that’s why I still love this work as much as I did on day one.

Because every person I meet changes me a little.
And every story reminds me how beautiful it is to be alive.

I’m Mónica, wedding & elopement photographer based in Barcelona, shooting across Catalonia, Spain and wherever love takes me. 🤍

A special thank you to Laia — my student for years, who sees people the way I taught her to. And somehow managed to see me too.😌

One of the most important things for me, always, is that couples feel safe, relaxed and truly themselves in front of my camera.

When I first met Ana and Vlad, they were honest from the start. They told me they were shy, that they didn’t like posing and that they were a bit worried about how they would look in the photos. All they wanted was something simple and beautiful, something that felt like them.

I told them to leave it in my hands. That there was nothing to perform, nothing to force. The only thing that mattered was that they enjoyed the moment and had a good time together.

And they did.

We played, we laughed, we moved, we created together. Little by little, the camera disappeared and what stayed was their connection. The result speaks for itself.

In the end, that’s what it’s all about: enjoying the process, trusting each other, and co-creating images that, when you look back at them years from now, bring you right back to how incredible that moment felt.

There are some places that don’t just look beautiful — they feel beautiful.

For Aina’s wedding preparations, she chose Juno House, the women’s members club in the heart of Barcelona that blends elegance, sophistication and creative energy in every corner. Here, thoughtful interior design by The Room Studio, sleek architecture, soft natural materials and carefully curated spaces created a setting straight out of a magazine — a place where every angle felt intentional and inspiring.

From the texture of the fabrics to the light filtering through the windows, Juno House gave the getting ready images a depth and artistry that elevated the whole story. It was a joy to capture Aina in a space that reflects her taste, strength and beauty — and to witness how a location with such character can make a bridal morning feel truly unforgettable.

If you’re dreaming of a bridal preparation session in Barcelona in a place as stylish and unique as Juno House, I’d love to tell your story too. 💫

Adela and Ito came all the way from Jakarta to Barcelona to celebrate their love before the wedding.
We wandered through the Gothic Quarter, one of the most soulful and charming areas of the city, letting the streets, the textures and the light guide us.

No rush, no expectations. Just two people deeply connected, sharing laughter, closeness and that quiet understanding that doesn’t need words.
Photographing them was a pleasure — capturing something real, warm and beautifully theirs.

If you’re dreaming of a couple photoshoot in Barcelona, discovering the city together while creating memories that feel honest and alive, I’d love to tell your story too 🤍

Some love stories grow quietly, holding space for each other when the world feels uncertain.

Ana and Vlad met in Australia, far from home, during a time when distance from loved ones was part of everyday life. In that shared solitude, love became shelter, laughter became language, and connection deepened naturally.

Years later, they celebrated their union in the Cook Islands, following their instinct for beauty, freedom and meaning. And this Christmas, they gathered everyone they love at Only YOU Boutique Hotel in Madrid, filling the space with warmth, joy and so much emotion.

Photographing them felt easy. Their humor, creativity and the way they look at each other say everything. Some couples don’t need direction, their connection leads the way. I feel so honored to meet them and leave the testimony of their love.

Thanks for trusting me y

Some spaces are more than beautiful — they’re alive with possibilities.

With Allison and Alex at Castell de Santa Florentina, I found corners that sparked creativity at every turn. Ancient archways, reflective surfaces, and golden light became my playground — a place to experiment with shadows, perspectives, and compositions that turn ordinary moments into extraordinary images.

It’s in these spaces that the real magic happens: when love meets light, and a photograph becomes something unexpected, artistic, and alive. ✨

If you’re dreaming of a couples photoshoot in Barcelona, with unique spaces that inspire creativity and unforgettable memories, let’s make it happen! 💛

✨ She said YES! ✨

Some moments feel written by the city itself…
Analy and Juan, a lovely couple from Mexico, were visiting Barcelona when Juan decided to ask the most important question of all.

After weeks of secret planning together, we chose the central fountain of Parc de la Ciutadella — surrounded by golden light, live Spanish guitar, and the energy of this magical city.
Only the proposal and a few photos were planned… but the universe synchronized everything perfectly.

And the best part?
She said YES! 💍

Congratulations to you both for beginning this beautiful journey together — what a joy and honor it was to capture your love story in one of the most romantic places in the world. 🌿💫
