My personal project Casual Ableism is at nearly 5,000 followers💙
As 2021 nears its end I want to (yet again) celebrate a personal project which is very close to my heart. Although I started in 2020, I feel that 2021 has really been the year in which it has flourished.
Casual Ableism is a social media community which shares real stories of (Casual) ableism, from real disabled people, with the aim of educating society about ableism.
It’s a combination of two of my biggest passions: disability advocacy + design. The branding & the account itself has a large focus on accessibility & inclusion, which is also an area of design I am more & more passionate about - because when we are designing from nothing, why design for only a sector of the population? Why not just design for everyone in the first place?
Casual Ableism is a personal project that has turned into more than I could ever had imagined. I’m so proud to say that it’s at nearly 5,000 followers. Although follower count is far from my priority, I do hope that before 2021 comes to end, my beloved Casual Ableism reaches 5000 followers💙 If you aren’t already following, then head over to & see what it’s about!
