Flashback to when i was a professional Landscape photographer a few years ago.. this was shot during one of my many photo workshops. A sunset at Teide national park made this backlit pine tree light up beautifully.

Benijo Beach
Possibly my most favourite beach to photograph, i always bag something good everytime i visit.

Shot in 2011, it seems like yesterday. My fave B&W 10 stop filter would make a nice vignette (which I emphasised a bit here) and back then it had a strong brown colour cast since back then filters where still not as neutral as nowadays! By compensating with manual white balance i quickly discovered that you can change the tonality of the Black and white and thus give way to more creativity in the field.

It was taken with my 12 megapixel Nikon D300 which goes to show you don’t necessarily need crazy megapixels 🙄

I shoot more and more with my phone nowadays.

Complete with Metric and Imperial hole spacings to fit 1/4”-20 screws commonly used on sets

Sooo i switched to Fuji not long ago, gone are the days of carrying heavy gear and chasing megapixels... none the happier!! I absolutely love the Fuji colours and i feel my creativity has been liberated to new heights 😍
I purchased a Tamron 18-300mm lens for my Fuji X-T2... yes you heard that right! A 18-300mm lens as my main lens.. well let me tell you it is super sharp and has superb VR.. It stays on almost permanently, im sooo damn happy!!
Below are 2 photos from the same scene to give a small clue of what the lens is capable of (without a tripod btw).
Let me know why you think this whole change opens so many creative doors?
