As a Nigerian living in Spain, I never take my African grocery shopping for granted. It is more than just buying food, it is one of the few ways we stay deeply connected to our roots, our culture, and the flavors of home. The smell of familiar spices, the sight of ingredients we grew up with, and the conversations that happen in those small stores instantly take you back to Nigeria.
For many of us in the diaspora, these grocery stores are not just shops; they are a bridge between where we come from and where we are now. They keep our traditions alive in our kitchens, our homes, and our communities.
So whenever I find myself in L’Hospitalet de Llobregat, there is one particular location I make sure to visit frequently. It has become my go-to spot for authentic African ingredients the place where I can always find the taste of home and reconnect with a small piece of my heritage.
