I never was good at drawing, but I always wanted to.
I saw my friends and classmates doing amazing things, and of course I wanted to reach that border too. You all know that feeling, don’t you?
But well, my parents never drew good as well, and happily lived their whole lives just accepting that fact. So they just never understood why I wanted to spend my time and money for such a “useful” skill.
Eventually in high school I managed to persuade my mom to let me visit art school classes.
And no, this is not gonna be a story of my hidden talent.
I mean, I had some progress of course, but I didn’t gain any professional drawing skills. I’m still not even good at it tbh😅
But what I wanted to share is how much did I gain instead 💫
✨I found friends there, who stayed in my life for years, and some till this day are my closest ones.
✨I’ve started my first relationships - good or bad ones, anyways it was my first experience.
✨I’ve learnt another ways of self expression - much broader then drawing alone. As from day to night this was a space where different kinds of art found a place to exist, from painting to sculpture, from music to dancing.
✨It was a place where I filled myself loved, safe, happy and always welcome.
✨And, well, thanks to people I met there, I got my first real film camera - Zenit TTL, which I loved to the depth of my heart, and which taught me patience, accuracy, self-trust and to value each shot.
Of course, each of our life frames has ups and downs, and each of our decisions lead to consequences - usually both for good, and for bad. But if you really truly want something, don’t let anyone to tell you that it’s worthless or useless. As they’ll never know how much it can pay you off in the end ♥️
