For all new parents out there that cannot come for your newborn shoots! Here are some tips for taking some great shots at the hospital and at home.

-Take your photos during the day when there is plenty of natural light.

-Use the natural light only, if you can!

-Position your baby facing the natural light source, ie the window light

-Don't shoot towards the light. Shoot with the light to your side or to your back, but be careful not to block the light coming through!

- Don't photograph with the camera aiming up the babies nose. Shoot down, from above or the side of the baby.

- Get close! Thats where all the details are! Fresh wrinkly skin and tiny fingers and toes are the best!

Top Tip!
Ask your nurse to wrap the baby for you and show you how to do it for when you get home.

DO NOT try any positions with your baby that may be harmful. Professionals know how to do these positions safely but you should never try them at home.

There are some great editing tools on mobile phones these days but if you would like your photos professionally edited then send me a message and I will edit them for you.
