The big and the small moments that mark the time that things changed....

As it gets to towards the end of the year I always end up reminiscing about big moments gone by.

"Costa del Car Parkio" was one of these moments.

The day I sat in a deckchair. In a car park. In Oldham. Sunbathing. Thinking. Planning. Manifesting.

I called it my Costa Del Car Parkio moment.

That was the day I knew I wanted more, I wanted the dream. And I also knew I could do it. I had belief.

That was the day I decided to create a new life under the Spanish sun.

I wanted Costa Blanca not Costa Del Car Parkio!

Today, I’m running two thriving businesses from my dream villa on the Costa Blanca.

"I am enough"

Hey there lovely photographer...I see you

It had it all!

A few weeks back I spent 5 days in Liverpool for both work and pleasure. And it packed a punch....lots of feelings including...

Fulfilment, laughter, impact - feeling uplifted after the in person marketing day with a fantastic group of driven pro brand photographers , helping them plan for 2026 success. Feeling grateful to have them in my life.

There has also been joy and happy emotions, re-connecting and spending time with extended family members , the love was felt and was deep.

Then there has been the stress and tears of seeing and supporting my dad at probably the worst time of his life. Dementia is cruel, Parkinson’s is tough, age can be a battle.

The biggest of loves going to my one in a million husband who sees and supports me through it all. Laughing and celebrating with me, holding me and supporting me.

Today I am super grateful for the small things.

What a privilege to be tired and re energising myself in my beautiful home, after a week of enjoying all that a very full life has to offer, the good and the bad.

It’s been a wild one ……

A week of juggling shoots, edits, mentoring sessions and family stuff too…..all the things…

So it’s a joy to take a moment, doing one of my favourite things, cuddling my fur babies!

Because the magic isn’t only in the big milestones , it’s in the tiny, ordinary moments that soften the edges of overwhelm.

It’s in that first sip of your morning coffee.
It’s in the little snuffles and loves from your dog.
It’s in the quiet exhale when you realise, “I’m doing it. I’m really doing this. This is the life I manifested.

These little pockets of joy
They’re the reason you keep going.
They’re the reminder of why you chose this beautiful, creative, chaotic life in the first place.

So today, pause. Let gratitude land. Celebrate the small things , dive into them, because they’re the ones that refuel you for the big ones.

Where has it gone to Photographer???

Just over a month to go and this year will be over!

This morning, I did a training to my exclusive Brand Photographers membership, the first part in a five part series all about upscaling your brand photography business for 2026.

Today we covered, upscaling your mindset.

Stepping into your future CEO successful self mindset.

What roles, offers, services, have you been resistant into stepping into?

Where is fear holding you back from growing and scaling your business?

My mentee Fi is getting more confident calling herself a 'consultant' when working with her brand and business owner clients, and stepping into that role.

Emma has worked hard on her mindset as my mentee and is now comfortably calling herself an educator to her brand photography clients.

David, Michael and Liz are feeling so much more confident in their mindset too, stepping into roles beyond just being a "photographer" and seeing themselves as visibility and brand experts, consultants, guides and creators.

Hey photographer, in my opinion, these are the TWO main things that are holding you back in business....

It’s not your talent.
It’s not the economy.
It’s not your camera or your kit
It's not your level of experience, retouching skills, or even your prices

It’s 1. your ability to believe in yourself and not let fear or lack of confidence hold you back
and
2. your marketing (or lack of it).

Great photography doesn’t sell itself, you need to be brave, bold and ballsy in your visibility, AND you need to market yourself.

What is one event in your life that changed it's course?

For me there have been a few, one of which, getting locked into my own utility room, I shared yesterday.
There are so many sliding door moments through life, events that really do cause light bulb moments, changing the course of what you do and where you go.
Another of mine was meeting my business mentor and making the leap to spend what felt like a HUGE amount of money on her mentoring programme. (I tripled my money back within months PLUS it made me want to help other photographers do the same!)

Locked in my own utility room.....I could not believe it!

One night I sat on the cold tiles of my own utility room, locked in.
I could hear the hum of the washing machine. The faint barking of my dog Lily a couple of rooms away.
I was locked in, left, humiliated, crying on the floor without even Lily for company. Surely this is not normal in a marriage?
And as I sat there with my back against the washing machine, I thought...

“What the buggery bo****ks am I doing here?”
It was the first time I really admitted the truth to myself. It was time to get out.
Because I had been trapped
Not just in a room.
Not just in a relationship.
But trapped in fear.
Fear of leaving, of not surviving on my own. Fear of failing.
And to this day, I know that is what so many photographers feel inside their businesses every day.
Maybe you feel it too, feel locked in.
Locked in endless editing queues, locked in money worries that keep you up at night, locked in procrastination, waiting for the “right time” to finally work on your business properly.
You want freedom. You want to feel safe. You want to know you can support yourself doing what you love.
But fear has you frozen.
That night in the utility room was my turning point. It wasn’t glamorous. It wasn’t some “aha” moment on a vision board. It was messy and painful.
But it forced me to change.

Hey pro photographer, on a scale of 1-10, how would you rate your procrast-i-faffination??
1 being you never faff about, you never procrastinate, you crack on it a focused way (who is this magical creature !! I have yet to find them!)
10 being you faff about like its an olympic sport, wandering off topic and focus at the slightest distraction, procrastinating the jobs to do, and then ending the day frustrated with yourself.
