After several years without finding large populations of starlings, this year I’ve finally been able to work again with these birds that fascinate me so much. It hasn’t been through the large murmurations, but rather through smaller groups and, above all, through their interactions with trees, a line of work that is perhaps one of my favourites.

This is one of the images I feel most proud of, and it is now part of my prints catalogue, which you can find through the link to my website.

And one last thing: if you’re tired of social media or thinking about leaving it, a good way to stay connected with your favourite artists is by subscribing to their newsletter. In my case, I only send a few, no more than four a year. If you’re interested, the link is in my bio.

Despite wars and humans orbiting the Moon, nature continues its own rhythm. These days, the swifts have officially returned, and it is something that makes me tremendously happy.

Their presence adds another layer of complexity and beauty to our everyday lives, especially for those of us living in cities, along with that sound that so strongly evokes spring.

I wanted to celebrate it by sharing a video from last year and a selection of photographs from recent years of my project Ornithographies.

I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

One year ago, I exhibited at in Portland, Oregon. I timed the opening to coincide with a natural event I had been wanting to capture for years: the migration of Vaux’s swifts. Without exaggeration, it was one of the most breathtaking natural spectacles I’ve ever witnessed.
Each autumn, thousands of these small swifts gather at dusk, forming swirling clouds before funneling into a disused brick chimney at Chapman Elementary School. They use it as a communal roost during their long journey south. The sight is truly mesmerizing, and it surprises me how little known it is outside of Portland. Thanks to the efforts of the local community and conservation groups, this unlikely sanctuary has been protected for decades, becoming both a haven for the birds and a source of inspiration and education for generations of students.

Here is one image I created during that visit. A few of them are now available as limited edition prints. The catalog is on my website.

In Entomografías, I study the flight movement of insects, a group of animals that is often overlooked.
By getting closer to their scale and slowing down time, their complexity becomes visible.

I work in collaboration with entomologist ,recorded in the studio with ultra high-speed cameras.

This specimen is a Zebra Longwing butterfly (Heliconius charithonia).

Available as a print on my website.

ENG_ I captured this image last July during a trip with my family to Iceland. It was taken at the famous Diamond Beach, where dozens of Arctic Terns were diving to catch herring. This is one of the new prints I’m offering as of this week. You can check it out through the link in my bio.
Starting in January, I will be increasing my prices. So if you’ve been thinking about purchasing one of my pieces, don’t hesitate—now is the perfect time!

Today, I’d like to share this image I took in Iceland in 2017. Right now, I’m reviewing the new material I recorded this summer in the same place, one of my favorite spots in the world. It’s beautiful how, in a single location, nature has the power to surprise you over and over again.
..
