We had a great weekend at Vibe Artisan Markets Thank you to everyone who stopped by the BaxPhotos booth, took the time to chat, shared stories about travel and photography, and supported my work by bringing a print home.

A special thank you to the amazing team at Vibe Artisan Market for creating such a welcoming space for local artists and small businesses. Events like these are only possible because of the people who organize them and the community that comes out to support them.

This weekend was especially meaningful. Into the Fog continues to be one of my most loved photographs, and seeing so many people connect with my work reminds me why I keep exploring, traveling, and creating.

Into the Fog

There are photos you expect people to like… and then there are the ones that surprise you.

has become my best-selling print at 𝗩𝗶𝗯𝗲 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁𝘀 . Yesterday so many people stopped in front of it, sharing what they saw in the image. Some found peace, others mystery, and many immediately recognized that unmistakable San Francisco feeling.

I captured this moment from Yerba Buena Island as the morning fog rolled over the Bay, leaving only the Bay Bridge and the city’s skyline emerging above the clouds. It lasted only a few minutes before everything disappeared again.

That’s what I love most about photography: preserving moments that nature never repeats in exactly the same way.

Eng / Spa 4:30 AM in the Lofoten Islands, Norway. One of the things I wanted to experience during my 14-month road trip across Europe was the midnight sun. Seeing it in the Lofoten Islands was worth every mile.

This photo was taken at 4:30 in the morning. It still feels strange to look at it and remember that everyone else was asleep while the landscape looked like it was late afternoon.

Moments like this are one of the reasons I decided to write a book about that journey. There are stories behind the photographs that don’t fit into a caption.

4:30 de la mañana en las Islas Lofoten, Noruega. Una de las experiencias que tenía marcadas durante mi road trip de 14 meses por Europa era vivir el sol de medianoche. Hacerlo en las Islas Lofoten hizo que todos esos kilómetros merecieran la pena.

Esta fotografía está tomada a las 4:30 de la madrugada. Todavía me resulta curioso verla y recordar que, mientras casi todo el mundo dormía, el paisaje tenía la luz de una tarde cualquiera.

Momentos como este son una de las razones por las que decidí escribir un libro sobre aquel viaje. Hay historias detrás de las fotografías que no caben en un simple pie de foto.
