Barcelona is incredible, but if you have just one free day, leave the city behind.

Start your morning in Montserrat, before the crowds arrive. The fresh mountain air, dramatic rock formations, and peaceful atmosphere make it feel completely different from the busy city below.

Later, we head to Tossa de Mar on the Costa Brava. Walk through the medieval fortress overlooking the Mediterranean, wander its narrow stone streets, take a swim in crystal-clear water, or simply enjoy a relaxed seafood lunch by the beach with a glass of local wine.

This isn’t a group excursion with strict timing. It’s a private day trip at your own pace, traveling by car with stops at a couple of panoramic viewpoints that most visitors never discover.

If you’re looking for an authentic day outside Barcelona instead of another crowded tourist attraction, I’d be happy to show you my favorite part of Catalonia.

Many people arrive in Montserrat at the busiest hours and miss how peaceful it can feel in the morning.

🏔️ One day. Two places. The real Catalonia.

Montserrat at sunrise — quiet, almost empty, just the mountains and the kind of silence you don’t expect this close to Barcelona. Then Tossa de Mar: an 11th-century fortress, turquoise water, and a long lunch with fresh seafood and local wine right by the sea.

No bus groups. No fixed schedule. Just a private car, two hidden viewpoints you won’t find online, and someone who genuinely loves showing this place to people who want to see it properly.

I’ve been doing this for a while, and the thing people always say afterward is that they wish they’d had more days like it.
