The colour I fell in love with doesn’t exist on paper.
It exists on my screen—the teal on the cover of Lead With Clarity, the one that feels exactly right. I’ve spent days trying to get a printer to reproduce it. Pantone guide, three proofs, a colour atlas. Still not quite there.
At some point I had to admit: I’m trying to control something I can’t control. The screen makes colour with light. Paper absorbs it. No amount of adjusting closes that gap entirely.
I talk about this with managers a lot—the distance between the vision you had and the reality you get. How long you can spend insisting the world match what’s in your head, before you accept that the real thing in front of you is the thing you’re working with.
🚀The book comes out April 28th. 🤷🏼♀️ Whatever blue the paper gives us.
