Multicolored
Muralla Roja in Calpe is a residential apartment and a three-dimensional painting - with stacked courtyards, labyrinthine stairs and walls colored in pinks, reds and blues that constantly shift with the Mediterranean light. It feels part fortress, part maze, part surrealist landscape

Building Hats
The rooftops of Gaudí’s architecture don’t just cover the buildings - they wear it. Each one rises like a whimsical hat, sculpted in color and curves, turning the Barcelona skyline into a parade of imagination 🎩🏛️

Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias: City of Arts and Sciences is the iconic futuristic cultural and architectural complex in Valencia designed by Santiago Calatrava. Its sculptural and controversial design makes it one the most important modern travel destinations in Spain

📸📍Image locations:
• 1, 2 - Walk across the bridge for an up close view of Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía
• 3 - Under the elevated walkway to Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía
• 4 - Museu de les Ciències Príncipe Felipe colonnade
• 5,6 - Eye-opening L'Hemisfèric
• 7, 8 - Who broke the tiles? Santiago Calatrava used the traditional technique called trencadís, a method made famous by Gaudí so flat tiles could curve smoothly over organic forms
• 9 - Futuristic architecture makes for festive backdrop for fireworks

Lowkey Valencia
In contrast to Barcelona’s colorful (and often over-crowded) streets, Valencia feels like a quiet revelation. Warm ochre buildings glow in soft Mediterranean light, with green parks and orange trees everywhere you walk. Days move unhurriedly here — life seems to happen in a more human pace. A city that balances culture, nature, and daily living without the noise. No wonder Valencia is often named one of the world’s most liveable cities 🌿

📸📍Valencia perfect visit locations:
• 1,2,3 — Campanario de Santa Catalina: There are many church towers that you can walk up in Valencia but I think Santa Catalina has some of the best views in town
• 4,5,6 — Ciutat Vella: Valencia’s Old City is a place where history lives quietly in everyday moments. Roman walls, Moorish streets, and Gothic towers sit side by side, not as monuments frozen in time, but as part of daily life
• 7, 8, 9 — El Pla del Real: one of Valencia’s liveable neighborhoods just east of the old city, it sits next to the Turia Gardens giving it a balance of nature and city life, with mid-20th-century buildings and authentic local atmosphere
• 10 — Horchatería de Santa Catalina: must visit for Horchata and Churros!
• 11 — Baroque Valencia: Museo Nacional de Cerámica y de las Artes Suntuarias "González Martí" for its fantastic facade

Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter
Beyond Gaudí’s colorful façades and bold Modernist lines lies Barri Gòtic — where stone spires rise from narrow streets, chimes echo through centuries, and the city reveals its oldest soul. This is Barcelona before the icons — quiet, cinematic, and timeless ✨
📸📍Image locations:
• 1, 2 — Carrer del Dr. Joaquim Pou: A perfect street to frame the soaring spires of Barcelona Cathedral
• 3 — Plaça de la Seu: Keep an eye out for open-air concerts and local markets unfolding in front of the Cathedral
• 4 — Skyline at night: Gothic Lights, Eternal Night
• 5 — Rooftop at Lamaro Hotel: Arrive at dusk to watch the city glow and soak in the true Gothic Quarter atmosphere

Casa Vicens: Most magical Gaudi house
If you are looking for design inspiration, you must visit this place in Barcelona! Because it was Gaudi's first house, it feels vibrantly creative and youthful. In addition to the Art Nouveau of the time, Gaudi was inspired by Moorish Revival styles.

I spent almost two hours discovering details and elements such as elaborate arches, colorful Arabesque tiling and abstract brick ornamentations. This was done more comfortably compared to Gaudi's other (overly) popular places. Just make sure you book online in advance - you won't be disappointed!
