Today is the 5th anniversary of the independence of South Sudan. 5 years ago I was in Juba to cover the referendum secession between north and south Sudan. People there had a lot of hope that the secession will help them to build a new strong country , but it ended to civil war. You can follow my work here. It was my first time traveling outside Egypt to cover a huge event like this at the beginning of my career. I will post this week some pictures from Juba.
