The mummy of Lady Rai isn’t just one of the oldest and best preserved mummies. she was the nurse of Queen Ahmos-Nefertari it self a women close to the very heart of the royal palace.Imagine her carrying and raising a king’s daughter at
the very beginning of the New Kingdom. Her body was slim, about 1.51 meters tall, and her hands were remarkably small — a detail you can almost picture clearly.
Her facial features are calm and soft, not harsh at all... there’s a quiet gentleness in her expression despite being over 3,500 years old Her hair is still visible and carefully styled, and the embalming preserved her facial details so well that she looks as if she’s simply asleep.
This mummy isn’t just an artifact... she’s a real Egyptian woman who lived inside the palace, served a queen, and whose presence still feels powerful today.

Very rare picture about Tutankhamun’s golden/innermost coffin, when it still had it’s eyes.
Because of the damage within the milleneas, the restaurator team decided to remove them. 😞
On the third picture: after the renovation & cleaning.
