Prix St. Georges asks for a different level of attention.

The work becomes more collected, more refined, and more demanding in the way horse and rider carry each movement together. Sherif’s PSG performance has that composed strength — not rushed, not forced, just a rider keeping the test organised through every detail.

At this level, the beauty of dressage is in how much control can still look calm.

Open Class has its own kind of meaning.

It’s a space where a horse can start gaining confidence in competitions, and that makes the rider’s role even more important.

With Laila, what stands out is the patience in the ride — giving the horse time to understand, keeping the moment positive, and making sure the experience feels safe enough to build from.

That’s not always the loudest kind of riding, but it’s one of the most important.

Senior II has its own kind of pressure.

The test asks for more strength, more preparation, and a rider who can keep the horse working with confidence from one movement to the next. Sherif brings a steady presence into this level — controlled, focused, and clear in the way the test develops.

It is the kind of ride where experience shows in the rhythm of the whole performance, not only in one moment.

Some riders bring power into the test without making it feel heavy.

At Prix St. Georges level, every detail has to stay sharp — the collection, the balance, the preparation before each movement. What stands out with Mahinour is the way she carries that level of difficulty with confidence and presence.

PSG is not just about advanced movements.
It is about making strength look organised, and making precision feel effortless.

Some riders make you feel how much they love the sport.

With Jasmine, it shows in the way she rides — focused, patient, and fully present with Amadeus through every movement. There’s skill in the way she carries the test, but also heart in the way she stays connected to her horse.

Youth and Senior I are two different tests, but what remains clear in both is her discipline, her feel, and the quiet strength she brings into the ride.

Medium level asks for a different kind of focus.

The test becomes more demanding in the details — cleaner preparation, clearer transitions, and a rider who keeps the rhythm organized from one movement to the next.

It’s the kind of level where accuracy starts to carry more weight, and every small decision shapes the full test.

Some rides feel honest because nothing is overdone.

Sara’s Preliminary B test had that calm, steady quality I enjoy capturing — a rider focused on keeping the horse comfortable, clear, and moving with confidence through each part of the test.

These are the moments that make me appreciate dressage even more: the patience, the small adjustments, and the quiet work that helps the horse understand and trust the ride.

Some riders bring a presence into the test before the movement even begins.

Laila’s Senior II ride had that feeling — focused, settled, and full of quiet authority. Not rushed, not dramatic, just the kind of riding that makes you follow every transition because you know something is happening in the details.

This is why I love this sport.
Dressage teaches you to look closer — at timing, balance, preparation, and the way a rider carries the horse through the test with both strength and feel.

This is the kind of partnership I really respect.

Preliminary B may not be the biggest level of the day, but with a young horse still gaining confidence in competitions, every small decision matters.

What stood out to me here is the connection between Sherif and his horse — the patience, the listening, and the way he gives her space to understand what’s being asked without losing confidence.

That’s what I love noticing in dressage.
Not only the final movement, but the care behind it.

A young horse feeling safe enough to try, and a rider making sure she feels supported through every step.
