Roots V from the series “Four Elements – Earth”

The Four Elements project confronts ancient perspectives, revealing stories shaped by natural forms and their dialogue with human perception.

Tree roots and soil blend with metal and structural remains of a demolished port area in Tallinn, Estonia. Meanwhile, black and white photographs from the 1940s and 50s (found in a mouldy suitcase at a
flea market in Manchester, UK) introduce an unknown family from northwest England. Additionally, more family photos and Soviet-era nature postcards were discovered in Tartu, Estonia. Roots of Date Palm trees were photographed at a park in Marrakech, Morocco. By incorporating all these elements together, the resulting photomontage is inspired by Dadaist Hannah Höch.
