Riga and its surroundings have their own kind of beauty in autumn. 🍂

I had seen this park in photos shared by my Latvian friends, and it was just as beautiful in real life. Sometimes, seeing a place through someone else’s lens makes you want to experience it yourself.

For these shots, I brought along the tiny and capable 35mm F2.2 from SG-image 📸

Autumn colours, quiet forest trails and a little waterfall hidden in Lahemaa National Park. 🍂

Vasaristi Cascade consists of three main steps, with the water dropping nearly 4 metres in total over a stretch of around 10 meters.

Autumn has always been one of my favourite seasons. The colours are beautiful, the air feels fresh, and everything seems a little more magical. The only downside? You never know when the rain will finally stop and the sun will come out. So when you wake up to sunshine on an autumn morning, it’s hard not to grab a coffee, take your camera and head outside to enjoy those colours while you can. 🍂☀️☕️📸

As usual, I brought my little compact camera with the 9mm f/2.8 lens from AstrHori Lenses, which has become my go-to lens for walks like this.

Kadriorg has always been one of my favourite places in Tallinn to wander around. The name comes from Catherine I, wife of Peter the Great, who had the palace and park built for her in the early 18th century. Even today, it feels like one of those places where you can forget you’re in the middle of the city for a while.

After a long day of sitting at my desk and editing photos, I felt like I needed to get away from the screen for a bit. So I jumped in the car and drove to Loksa beach, sat on the sand and watched the sun go down. It was one of those evenings where doing absolutely nothing for a while actually feels pretty good.

I had the tiny 18mm f/2 Lite from 7ARTISANS OFFICIAL with me too. It’s small enough to barely notice in your bag, but quick when something catches your eye, and I really like the way it renders colours. Perfect for an evening when I wasn’t really looking for anything specific, just enjoying the view and taking a few photos along the way.

There’s a certain kind of weather that makes me want to photograph Tallinn differently. After the rain, the ground becomes part of the scene, reflections stretch the architecture, colours become a little richer, and a familiar place can suddenly feel unfamiliar.

Patarei is probably one of the best places in Tallinn for that kind of mood. Built as a sea fortress in the 19th century and later used as a prison until 2002, it carries a lot of history in its walls. Around Kalarand, that old atmosphere mixes with the sea and the newer side of the city, which makes the whole area surprisingly fun to explore with a camera.

The AstrHori Lenses 9mm f/2.8 was a perfect companion for it. Wide enough to play with puddle reflections, dramatic skies, architecture and the open sea, while getting close enough to make the foreground part of the story. After the rain, there’s always a little more to photograph, sometimes above you, sometimes in front of you, and sometimes right under your feet.

Every time I explore a different part of Estonia, I’m reminded how different this country can feel from one town to another.

Narva is definitely one of those places, its location, architecture and history give it a character you don’t really find elsewhere in Estonia.

At first, there’s not much to see, just a quiet patch of Estonian bog surrounded by forest.

Then the view slowly opens up, and you realize just how vast this landscape really is. One of those places where Estonia feels completely untouched, quiet and endless.

There has been a mill here since at least 1555, and the river has been used for its power for centuries. Today, you get the waterfall, the old manor, the forest, the walking trail and all that water moving through the landscape, not a bad place to spend an evening with a camera.

Swipe through and you might spot a little local resident 🐿️

I had the compact 35mm f/2.2 from SG-image with me, and it turned out to be exactly the kind of lens I like for places like this. Small enough to just walk around with, wide enough to capture the surroundings, and with some really nice colour and separation when the light starts getting low.
