🐆Happy International Leopard Day🐆

We were lucky enough to come across this beauty with a kill in the tree. Over the next 2 days we spent around 6 hours with her watching as she switched between feeding and sleeping.

Sadly they are listed as Vulnerable on the IUCN list and their population is declining fast due to habitat loss, prey depletion, conflict with people, trophy hunting, poaching for skin and body parts.

Today we celebrate them to increase awareness of the importance of this species, global awareness of their status and the threats they are faced with.

✨Looking for Inspiration✨

One of my favourite things about wildlife photography is turning wild moments into human related emotions. I could say that I have been looking for inspiration for the last couple of months, like this 🐒 (Although he was literally just looking up the tree where the rest of the baboons were running around, while he was chewing his delicious 🐌😂).

When we are disconnected from nature, we think that things around us are not related, but being in communion with nature helps us realise that nature is everything. It’s everywhere. It’s where we live, even when it doesn’t look like it. If tomorrow humanity ceased to exist, mother nature would take back what we took from her.

Some places like help me remember that everything is connected✨

I love when I can take photos of wild animals where the background is so plain, that it almost looks like it was in a studio with a colour background 😍

Did you know they are considered one of the “ugly five”.
Makes sense due to their look. It gives the impression that they are having a very bad hair day 🥴😂 but they are actually pretty cool. For example they don’t have a voice box, so to make a noise their throat pouch 😮
