Everyone knows the Auto Union Silver Arrows, the legendary 1930s Grand Prix race cars.

But hardly anyone knows that a street-legal sports car version with a 16-cylinder engine was also planned for these pioneering racing cars: the Auto Union Type 52.

Now Audi has built this car, the Schnellsportwagen. A feast for the eye!!!

A surprise guest, as agreements were made very late, so not in the program - but for sure one of the main attractions. You don't see many of these 😉

I’ve now selected the events I’ll cover this season. I’ve had to limit myself a bit, as my real job (the one that actually pays the bills 😄) is quite demanding.

Anyways — here’s what’s on the calendar this season:

TIMEWINDER

- A nostalgia festival in Denmark covering everything from historic war camps and hippie campsites to vintage racing, planes, boats, steam engines — and pretty much anything in between.
- I’ve covered it before, and I’ll keep coming back. An amazing event with SO much fantastic photo material 📸

GRAND MEETING
https://www.grandmeeting.de/en/

- Another nostalgia event — this time in Germany. This one is centered around classic cars, race cars, and vintage road cars from the roaring past, combined with huge picnic areas where period-correct clothing is almost a must. On top of that, a large number of racing legends attend — and even drive some of these incredible old race cars.
- A first for me. I had it booked last year, but had to cancel at the last minute.

RØMØ MOTOR FESTIVAL

- Another nostalgia event (there’s definitely a theme here somewhere 😄), gathering more than 30,000 people on the beach to watch drivers from around the world compete in good old-fashioned beach racing with period-correct vehicles up to 1947. An amazing spectacle that everybody should experience at least once in their life.
- A classic on my yearly trip list. This will be my 9th time attending — and it’s actually the 10th anniversary of the event itself.
