I know it’s easy to hesitate on family photos. To think, “we’ll do it later” or wonder if it’s worth the cost. But time is ticking by…and it’s soo fast! 🕰️ The child you cuddle today is changing into a whole new person. This little version will slip into the past, and that’s going to happen a lot faster than you think. 🥹

So if you need a little extra nudge, consider this your nudge! Book the shoot with that photographer near you. Print and hang those photos on your walls. The cost is nothing compared to the value of those memories, I promise. 🤍

Storytime: I had asked Rebekka to do a slow twirl to show us her dress. She and I were totally mesmerized; it flowed around her so beautifully. I didn’t even notice Mads in that moment. But when the shots came up again in editing, suddenly Mads was all I could look at! Because I realized he wasn't looking at the dress at all. The whole time, in every single frame, he was just watching his new bride. Smiling so softly & lovingly at her. Oh maaan, I STILL tear up thinking about it! 🥹

Find yourself someone who looks at you like Mads looks at Rebekka... 🥰

90% of the couples and families I photograph choose the beach. I mean, who can blame them? The Danish coastline is honestly STUNNING. But! When someone leans instead toward the green landscapes of rural Denmark…endless flowing fields, the cool hush of the forest, the peaceful stillness of the fjord...aw, there's just something special about that. Make sure to choose the place that feels most like ‘you’ & I’ll see you there 🌿

Memory lane: this was my VERY FIRST family shoot from when I officially relocated to Denmark! 🥹🥳 And to this day, they are one of the most photogenic families I’ve ever had — genuinely so warm and loving with each other 😍 I makes my job just beyond easy—

The cherry on top…at some point I heard them speaking together in a very familiar language. Very much NOT Danish, nor English, nor German. I thought: “Waaait a minute..!!” and sure enough, they were from Bulgaria! I spent two of my most lovely summers in the gorgeous little mountain town of Bansko, Bulgaria several years prior. Somehow my ears still remembered. 🥰

Throwback to 2009 and the very first wedding I ever photographed. 🥰 I literally can't even remember what I charged. Was it $500? Or $250!? This was 7 months BEFORE I graduated from college so I was still finishing my photography degree and I remember feeling really nervous. Wedding photographers understand that this couples' lasting memories are going to depend almost exclusively on them. It's an honor and it's also a ton of pressure so we need to go into it calmly and confidently. We're directing and organizing and endlessly darting around all while having eyes in the back of our heads and in both ears. At the time, I was 100% faking my confidence. I guess I did alright because now it's 14 years and many many weddings later, and I still love these photos. They're not perfect from any technical viewpoint, but they're sweet and loving and genuine and that's what matters. 💛

Bonus trivia: The bride and groom held their intimate ceremony on the lawn/front steps of a historic house! I remember thinking "Oh that's interesting." Flash forward 14 years and I love these EVEN MORE now that I've just had my own tiny, intimate wedding on the grounds of our good friend's country home. Perfect full circle right there. 😎
..Also I still think that's the cutest flower-themed wedding cake ever. 🌸 (2nd-to-last photo)

The perfect outdoor wedding: warm, golden summer light, tons of laughter, and good food. A & D were such an easy-going bride and groom, and they got big bonus points when they asked if they could include their doggo in photos! My answer is: YES ALWAYS YES. (Check out the last photo; the three of them + sunset) When the sky finally went dark, the mother-of-the-bride came over to me and said: "Is it ok if you put your camera down and have a drink with us now?" Aw! 🥰
