USED HARDWARE – A visual dialogue

'Used Hardware' is a new book which intertwines two photographic series by Keld Helmer-Petersen and Martin Ransby, both depicting IBM’s former headquarters in Lundtofte, north of Copenhagen.

The book is centered around the two series of photographs that together create a visual dialogue across time, while also pointing to the distinct perspectives and contexts in which they were made. Keld Helmer-Petersen enjoyed unrestricted access, while Martin Ransby encountered the buildings from the back, where access was prohibited. Yet the meeting of these two positions opens for the possibility of something entirely different to occur between the two experiences.

The photographs are accompanied by two texts by architectural historian and author Jannie Rosenberg Bendsen, and by artist, author, researcher, and editor Jonas Georg Christensen.

Keld Helmer-Petersen is represented in the first exhibition in Japan of Poul Kjærholm's works: Timeless Minimalism. The exhibition period is June 29 - September 16, and the place is Panasonic Shiodome Museum of Art in Tokyo. Worth the trip! Photos: Tomonori Sakon and Yukie Mikawa.

NEW POSTERS
Permild & Rosengreen has published two new prints from the collection of Keld Helmer-Petersen. The ‘Staircase’ from 1942 is an example of Vintage Helmer-Petersen being both cool and modern. The ‘Winterstalks’ from the same year was originally used as a cover for a booklet, but turned upside down it gets a graphic expression of its own. Both posters can be purchased in different sizes and frames. Read more here: https://permild-rosengreen.co.uk/shop/?brand=210-keld-helmer-petersen
