Hi friends of Hvergelmir Photography

At this point I've been photographing for more than 20 year, spending probably the first 10 years photographing whatever I felt like (nature mostly).

As part of a major revision and making a more clear path forward, I've initiated a major project to sort through more than 20 years worth of photography (and delete anything not worth keeping) I've got stored away on my harddrives. The intend is to remaster a lot of my older (and newer content) and release never seen before photos (and videos). This is obviously mostly just to satisfy my own heavily perfectionist and neurodivergent (AuDHD) mind. The first step of the revision, was to give Hvergelmir Photography a very much needed fresh logo (the original one, was very quickly put together), so I sat down and designed the current one, as seen in a previous post / banner. Another big change is how I've ran a dual camera setup for a while, but have recently replaced my old main Canon EOS R (2018) with the newer Canon EOS R5 mk II, quite a significant and much more professional upgrade, first baptized in fire recently as a concert camera at the local SUNKEN + Gennem Tågen + Ultima Necat gig at Radar

Hvergelmir Photography is unaffiliated / independant and currently not attached to any music venues / webzines, but that doesn't mean I'm not open to it and looking for possibilities to take my concert photography to the next level. A huge side effect of being heavily debilitated by neurodiversity is my lackluster social skills - which means I have close to no network, and thus as it is now, no way place my foot in any doors. It's only relatively recent, I was specifically asked to photograph at Metal Magic Festival (although not last year, so no photos coming there). I'm obviously looking for opportunities locally (within the borders of Denmark, and the closer to my homebase, Aarhus, the better) - I've written the entire thing in English simply for consistency. I look forward to hearing from any potential opportunities.

Stay tuned for new high quality photo (and video)-graphy soon, both new and old remastered content. I have a lot of beautiful nature / wildlife photography in my backlog including some gigs that need to be released to the public 😊

I'm "slowly" working my way through all the many photos from Metal Magic Festival this year. I've been dealing with a big burnout the past year and a half, while adjusting to my new life style (body recomposition / weight lifting and hypertrophy) and getting back into martial arts again, and also balancing photography in my spare time. For years I've neglected just sitting back and relaxing, while actually having all the time in the world to do so - as a result I've been dealing with both a burnout and stress.

Specifically photography has been a method for me to deal with social anxiety in larger gatherings, like concerts so I have something to focus my attention to. I can get more into the topic at a later time, if there's any curiosity about this and dealing with neurodivergence.

Anyway, enjoy the first photos from Metal Magic Festival part XVI day one, up now!
I still have to go through the last two days, and I have a "large" backlog of concert and festival photos from last year I also need to walk through, but I'm currently focusing on these and striking while the iron is hot (relevant, so to speak).

I was requested to photograph HELGE at HeadQuarters during their Dødsmarch over Dannevang tour.

As much as I appreciate a good challenge, I must conclude after having photographed a bunch of live shows at HeadQuarters, that it's a struggle to get anything other than some "atmospheric silhouette shots" there. But I do try and here are the results from my most recent HeadQuarters live show.

Jeg kunne have fået nogle fantastiske billeder til Anthem of the Awakened - Fredericia edition havde man efterspurgt mig som fotograf. Skuffende nok var der ikke en eneste fotograf i pitten. Måske var der en årsag til det? Jeg ved det ikke. Men jeg fik taget nogle okay billeder med min mobil (som aldrig kan leve op til et ordentligt kamera). Jeg var desværre låst fast til en position på forreste række under Archgoat Official, så ikke mange vinkler at hente her.

I think I'm roughly a year behind on my photo backlog. I'm working through it (and some personal things), at a pace I can manage right now. So, I ask of you some patience. I hope to have some "oldies" up soon, such as Winter Metal Magic '23, Metal Magic Festival '23 and Midgardsblot '23 (and some potential Norway travel photos).
