As I slowly is juggling proof rounds for HÅNDVÆRK Bookazine No. 15 (out this september) and planning No. 16 (coming March 2027), I’ve found myself strolling down memory lane.
I’ve been revisiting earlier issues and digging out favourite photo series from the archives. Over the coming weeks, I’ll be sharing images from Bookazine No. 1-14, in chronological order.

Today’s photographs are from Bookazine No. 1, published in autumn 2019.
(Stilleben) Still Life No. 1 features:

• Porcelain table by anne black
• Porcelain birds by Anne Black
• Ceramic blackberry branch by Marianne Nielsen Marianne Hansen
• Vase by LOUISE ROE

Still Life No. 2 features tea towels by:

And then there are the images from Stilleben Kitchen, STILLARK which looks exactly what it is: a kitchen.
The design has been refined to its purest essence. A welcoming, functional kitchen that quietly adapts to almost any home without demanding attention. Created with the ambition of making something enduring, something designed to stay and be lived with for many years.

You’re probably craving popsicles- I’m, and yesterday I fould a new blackberry spot
Here my old recipe, I found it – along with some favorite photos I took years ago.

The popsicles in the photo are made with blackcurrants – but it’s blackberry season now, and they’re just as delicious!

Recipe:
• 175 g soft dates
• 1/3 cup freshly pressed orange juice
• 1 ripe banana
• 2 cups blackberries or blackcurrants

Blend with a stick blender and freeze.
You can coat them with chocolate afterwards if you like.

Tomorrow, the annual design and crafts market Frue Plads Marked opens.
I’ll be giving the opening speech at 12 noon, and I hope to see you there.
Afterwards, a jury consisting of goldsmith architect Marie-Louise Høstbo and textile designer and printmaker Lisbet Friis will begin the search for this year’s HÅNDFUGL Award winner. The award celebrates outstanding craftsmanship, strong design, and creative excellence.

Last summer, I had the great pleasure of interviewing Lisbet Friis for HÅNDVÆRK Bookazine No. 14. These photos are outtakes from the shoot and were not featured in the magazine.

If you’d like to read the article, the bookazine is available in both Danish and English through our online kiosk, as well as from a wide range of retailers in Denmark and internationally.

Continuing from yesterday’s post, here are more outtakes from the making of HÅNDVÆRK Bookazine No. 14.
These photos were taken at Filtværket Mette Østman in Odense, where apprentice feltmakers Astrid Brøndgaard Jensen and Kamilla Kuszon are learning from master craftswoman Mette Østman Mette Østman
The article explores their unique master-apprentice programme in feltmaking, developed through Hantverksakademin in Stockholm.
A story about skilled hands, dedicated learning, and keeping traditional craft knowledge alive.

In HÅNDVÆRK bookazine no. 14, NINI LEIMAND introduced me to some of her favourite buildings

- Nini co-heads the bachelor programme Architecture’s Anatomy and Fabrication at the Royal Danish Academy in Copenhagen

We began at Bispebjerg Hospital.
Nini wants to show me the recently inaugurated Education Centre.

The generously detailed – bordering on the fanciful – building that contains the education centre was designed by BBP Arkitekter
Its wooden structure is exposed as much as possible. The exterior cladding is new and recycled bricks. Without being humble, the building blends in and elevates with the beautiful old hospital buildings, which were designed by Martin Nyrup.
Nini points out details, such as the plinth, the built-in bird houses and the rotated bricks in apertures and embrasures.
Inside, we both appreciate the colour scheme, designed by visual artist Malene Bach and the pleasant spaces and spatial transitions, including sheltered, alcove-like areas for private meetings and conversations, stairwells in well-chosen colours and a beautiful auditorium.
