LICHT DER HOFFNUNG UND WÜNSCHE (ASTURIEN) 🇪🇸

Mit diesem Bild aus Nordspanien wünsche ich Euch allen ein Fest der Liebe und Hoffnung und platziere hiermit auch mein jährliches Lebenszeichen. 😉 Möge die Menschheit die Kurve kriegen und solche wunderbaren Orte und Momente auch für zukünftige Generationen erlebbar bleiben. Ich werde diesen Abend, diese Reise jedenfalls nie vergessen. ❤️ Mit der Liebe meines Lebens an Orten die schöner nicht sein könnten. Bei einer Beschäftigung der ich schon viel zu lange nicht mehr so frönen kann.

Stall Courtyard (Royal Palace complex Dresden) 🇩🇪

The Stall Courtyard is part of the Residenzschloss complex and is wrongly overshadowed by the famous Dresden buildings around it. 🏰 It connects the Georgenbau with the Johanneum and was formerly the setting for court tournaments, hunts and ring sting. Two bronze columns designed by Giovanni Maria Nosseni are reminiscent of the latter, in whose rings the knights had to strike at full gallop with their lance. 🎠 The spectators sat between the pillars of the Lange Ganges with its open arch hall.

When I juggled my tripod through the iron grating for this shot in the morning in late summer of this year (see picture in the first comment), I would not have thought that the wonderful medieval Christmas market in the stable yard would also fall victim to the pandemic in this strange year. 😔

Stallhof (Dresdner Residenzschloss) 🇩🇪

Der Stallhof gehört zum Residenzschloss-Komplex und steht zu Unrecht ein wenig im Schatten der berühmten Dresdner Gebäude ringsherum. 🏰 Er verbindet den Georgenbau mit dem Johanneum und war ehemals Schauplatz für höfische Turniere, Hetzjagden und das Ringelstechen. An letzteres erinnern zwei von Giovanni Maria Nosseni entworfene Bronzesäulen, in deren Ringe die Ritter in vollem Galopp mit ihrer Lanze treffen mussten. 🎠 Zwischen den Säulen des Langen Ganges mit seiner offenen Bogenhalle saßen die Zuschauer.

Als ich morgens im Spätsommer diesen Jahres mein Stativ durch das Eisengitter für diese Aufnahme jonglierte (s. Bild im ersten Kommentar), hätte ich noch nicht gedacht das in diesem seltsamen Jahr auch der wunderbare Mittelalterliche Weihnachtsmarkt im Stallhof der Pandemie zum Opfer fällt. 😔

"Only those who know the longing ..."

2020 - A strange year is drawing to a close. It's been a difficult year, especially for the arts and culture, especially for all the people who had to let a dear person go or lost their job or even their existence. 😢 Difficult for everyone who, due to the pandemic, had to work a lot, often under difficult conditions, and often to exhaustion.

Everyone knows the bitter sweet feeling of longing. Longing is a drag in the chest, it hurts, but longing is also a beautiful indulgence in the notions of great happiness. If we have "trained" anything to perfection this year, it will be that. We trained our heartfelt longing for the favorite people, the distance, states or periods of time as they "used to" once.

Thankfully, that I still made it this year at one of my longing places, I wish you and your families with these two longing pictures from there, an optimistic and peaceful Christmas time and better times for all of us in 2021! 🙏

Look ahead, stay healthy and weighed in to me.

"Often you have to be strong if you want to change something. But you have to be even stronger, if you have to accept what it is like or even wait until it's over."

Elbsandsteingebirge - Sächsische Schweiz

Recently for a short visit to Dresden, despite a lot of construction sites, I was finally able to take a picture of the perspective from Schlossplatz in the direction of the Frauenkirche with what I consider to be the beautiful old town architecture. What could be more obvious in a metropolis that is overcrowded during COVID-19 than to try the morning blue hour without the usual crowds and souvenir stands. ;) Thanks to the nearby accommodation directly on Neumarkt, the early bed escape was still bearable. :P

Neulich für einen Kurzbesuch in Dresden, konnte ich trotz wirklich vieler Baustellen, endlich mal die Perspektive vom Schlossplatz aus in Richtung Frauenkirche mit der in meinen Augen wunderschönen Altstadt-Architektur ablichten. Was liegt in einer zu COVID-19 Zeiten überlaufenden Metropole näher, als dafür die morgendliche blaue Stunde ohne die üblichen Menschenmassen und Souvenir-Stände zu bemühen. 😉 Dank nahegelegener Einquartierung direkt am Neumarkt war auch die frühe Bettflucht noch erträglich. 😛

Costa Quebrada, Cantabria 🇪🇸

With the current heat records, I love to browse the refreshing photos of our last Northern Spain tour. This photo embodies everything we have learned to love so terribly on the Bay of Biscay, especially on the broken coast of Cantabria. 😍 The area is known for its changeable weather, the wonderful vegetation and dreamlike rock formations. Shortly before the heavy rain began, I was able to capture this sunset as a memory. I was looking for a nice foreground for a while and I liked the jagged cliff edge that gave me a certain association with the first letter of my last name. 😉

Costa Quebrada, Cantabria 🇪🇸

Bei den aktuellen Hitzerekorden stöbere ich liebend gern in den erfrischenden Fotos unserer letzten Nordspanien Tour. Dieses Foto verkörpert alles was wir am Golf von Biskaya, speziell an der zerbrochenen Küste Kantabriens so furchtbar lieben gelernt haben. 😍 Das Areal ist bekannt für sein wechselhaftes Wetter, die wunderschöne Vegetation sowie traumhafte Felsformationen. Kurz bevor der Regen heftig einsetzte konnte ich diesen Sonnenuntergang zur Erinnerung festhalten. Ich suchte eine ganze Weile nach einem schönen Vordergrund und mochte die zackige Felskante die mir eine gewisse Assoziation mit dem Anfangsbuchstaben meines Nachnamens bescherte. 😉

For the DIY tinkerers among you, I wrote a small article on the protection of tripod legs on my blog. Possibly interesting if the upper segments aren't manufacturer-side protected with moss rubber or foam even with your model. Have fun reading and many thanks to Frank Heinen on whose Instagram post I had seen this first. (y)

In order to catch these strikingly impressive rock formations in the most beautiful evening light last fall, I had to climb the Wildschützensteig with sack and pack after dinner. Not the most pulse-reducing idea, but the timely arrival compensated for this so often photographed view of the beautiful Schrammsteine and the Falkenstein. Some associate the backbone of a dinosaur with the lined up rock ribs in the fascinating landscape of Saxon Switzerland. With the right amount of imagination, it is certainly not entirely absurd. ;)

Um diese markant imposanten Felsformationen im letzten Frühherbst noch rechtzeitig im schönsten Abendlicht zu erwischen, musste ich nach dem Abendbrot mit Sack und Pack stramm über den Wildschützensteig aufsteigen. Nicht die pulssenkendste Idee, aber das rechtzeitige Ankommen entschädigte für diese nicht ohne Grund so oft abgelichtete Aussicht auf die herrlichen Schrammsteine und den Falkenstein. Manch einer assoziiert hier das Rückgrat eines Dinos mit den aufgereihten Felsrippen in der faszinierenden Landschaft der Sächsischen Schweiz. Mit dem richtigen Maß an Fantasie sicher nicht ganz abwegig. ;)

So small and yet so big - thanks to mini tripod I can only look up admiring how the really small pine in front of the Gohrisch and the Königstein Tafelberg raises into the evening sky and presents the magnificent Elbe Sandstone Mountains - Saxon Switzerland. Moments that stay. 🥰 You can only meet the tree with respect, despite the external effects with flying colors. May it stay that way for a long time. 🙏

So klein und doch so groß - dank Ministativ kann ich nur bewundernd aufschauen wie die wirklich kleine Kiefer vor dem Gohrisch und dem Königstein Tafelberg in den Abendhimmel ragt und das prächtige Elbsandsteingebirge - Sächsische Schweiz präsentiert. Momente die bleiben. 🥰 Dem Bäumchen kann man nur mit Respekt begegnen, es trotz den äußeren Einwirkungen mit Bravour. Möge das noch lange so bleiben. 🙏
