🇺🇸 You will never forget the view from the top! "Mælifell" mountain is one of Iceland's most famous landmarks, an green mossy pyramid alone on a sprawling black plain.
The shallow, dark glacier plane seems to stretch endlessly. And yet suddenly the mighty Mælifell mountain appears before us out of nowhere. It rises almost 200 meters from the sandy plain into the sky and offers an unforgettable view of the surroundings. The mountain was created during a series of eruptions under a glacier that covered this region during the last ice age

🇩🇪 Eine Aussicht von oben die wir so schnell nicht vergessen! Der "Mælifell" ist einer von Islands bekanntesten Wahrzeichen, eine alleine stehend, grüne moosbewachsene Pyramide in einer weitläufigen schwarzen Ebene.
Die flache dunkle Gletscherebene scheint sich unendlich weit zu erstrecken. Und doch taucht plötzlich der mächtige "Mælifell"vor uns aus dem Nichts auf. Er ragt fast 200 m von der Sandebene in den Himmel und bietet eine unvergessliche Aussicht auf die Umgebung. Der Berg wurde während einer Reihe von Ausbrüchen unter einem Gletscher geschaffen der diese Region während der letzten Eiszeit bedeckte.
