• Die      Grundlagen (12:00 Uhr): Euer Tag beginnt in der Leica Welt in      Wetzlar. Nach dem Besuch des Ernst Leitz Museums führt euch ein      Profi-Fotograf in die gezielte Bildgestaltung, Lichtführung und      Bildkomposition mit dem Smartphone ein – ganz ohne Vorwissen.
• Die      Kulisse: Am Nachmittag wechselt ihr zum (The      Loh Collection). Setzt über 150 Meilensteine der Automobilgeschichte aus      130 Jahren kreativ in Szene. Eine exklusive Führung sorgt für die passende      Inspiration.
• Der      Fokus: Lernt, wie ihr glänzende Oberflächen, scharfe Konturen und die      emotionale Ästhetik dieser Ikonen perfekt im Bild festhaltet.

An evening full of inspiration & new perspectives 🌟

What an opening! Last night, we had the pleasure of celebrating the opening of a very special exhibition at Leica Welt. From now until September 20, the Ernst Leitz Museum invites you to immerse yourself in the fascinating visual worlds of Donata and Wim Wenders.

In this unique, curated exhibition, the photographic works of the artist couple engage in a captivating dialogue. Although both have a completely unique perspective on the world, they are united by their love of detail and their search for images beyond the purely documentary.

In addition to iconic motifs and more recent works, an exclusive interview video awaits you, offering deep insights into the couple’s creative process.

A very special moment at Leitz Park ✨

We had the great honor of welcoming HRH Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya of Thailand to the Leica World. It was a journey through history and craftsmanship: from viewing iconic treasures in our archive to experiencing the magic of the darkroom with expert where the Princess personally developed photos from her trip to India. 🎞️
Complemented by the powerful visual language of Ragnar Axelsson’s exhibition, this visit became a lively exchange about the passion for photography.

An inspiring exchange that shows that the passion for the image knows no bounds.

Two pairs of eyes. Two photographic styles. One exhibition.

Starting June 11, the Ernst Leitz Museum in Wetzlar will present the exhibition
“Two Pairs of Eyes: Photographs by Donata and Wim Wenders.”

This joint presentation brings the works of Donata and Wim Wenders into an exciting dialogue—between cinematic vision and photographic condensation, between expansiveness and intimacy. On display are well-known, iconic motifs as well as more recent works from the past few years.

✨ Flash & Focus 2026 – what an evening!

The first photos from Saturday show how the Leica World once again became a vibrant hub of photography, music, creativity, and connections during Museum Night.

Under bright sunshine and summery temperatures, a very special atmosphere emerged—both indoors and outdoors. From interactive experiences and spontaneous creative moments to great music and inspiring conversations, the evening was all about photography.

Together, we explored, photographed, danced, and experienced many unforgettable moments—surrounded by inspiring people and a unique energy.

A huge thank you to our team, everyone involved, the artists, and all the guests who made Flash & Focus 2026 so special and brought the Leica world to life.

Rare cameras, iconic stories, and a unique piece of photography history 📸

On June 13, 2026, the 48th Leitz Photographica Auction returns to Leica Welt in Wetzlar. Highlights include the legendary Leica MP-33 in black paint — one of the rarest Leica cameras ever made — and a historic Lumière Cinématographe from the late 19th century.

Collectors and photography enthusiasts from around the world can join live in Wetzlar, online, or by phone. Guests are also invited to visit Leica Welt and follow the auction atmosphere in person.
