“Pioneer to the Falls” – published by @17.23.magazine – is a visually intense, haunting journey inspired by Gaspar Noé’s style, the atmosphere of Good Time, and the interpretative depth of Fight Club.
It’s a tale of despair and meaninglessness, confronting us with time’s merciless passage and the illusion of purpose. The protagonist, running from his life and himself, embodies our own restless search for meaning. As we root for him, we face disappointment—just as we seek solace in fictional heroes instead of shaping our own fate.
A parable and a mirror, the story explores identity, existential fear, and the inescapable passage of time. In the end, it reminds us: everything we have will ultimately own us, and the only constant we possess is ourselves.
