1 Keylight, maximale Tiefe, so geht’s!

Manchmal braucht es kein riesiges Licht-Setup, sondern nur die richtige Kontrolle über die Reflexionen, um ein Produkt hochwertig aussehen zu lassen. Bei diesem Shot mit dem Aroma-Spray zeige ich euch Schritt für Schritt, wie das Bild durch minimale Anpassungen an Qualität gewinnt:

Schritt 1: Das reine Bild ohne Extras, nur das Produkt vor dem weißen Hintergrund.

Schritt 2: Der Einsatz eines Reflektors (weiße Seite). Die rechte Seite des Produkts wird dadurch minimal und sanft aufgehellt.

Schritt 3: Das Keylight wird eingeschaltet, allerdings stumpf mit dem Standard-Reflektor. Das Ergebnis ist ein sehr hartes, grelles Licht mit einer unschönen Doppelspiegelung auf der Flasche.

Schritt 4: „Special Sauce“. Vor das Licht wird der Rahmen mit dem Diffusor-Tuch gesetzt. Die Flasche ist jetzt perfekt aufgehellt, die Blendung wirkt sauber, weich und akkurat, ohne auszubrennen.

Das Learning: Mit nur einem einzigen Keylight lässt sich eine extrem sanfte Aufhellung bei starkem Kontrast erzielen, was dem Produkt deutlich mehr visuelle Tiefe verleiht.

1 Drehtag verschwendet, für einen 0-Euro-Hack.

Als Perfektionist verrennt man sich am Set schnell mal. Beim Parfüm-Dreh habe ich stundenlang das Licht angepasst, weil der blaue Hintergrund unschön durch die Flasche schimmerte. Die Lösung war am Ende kein teures Equipment, sondern ein einfaches Stück Karton auf der Rückseite der Flasche.

Das Prinzip lässt sich eins zu eins auf edle Spirituosen übertragen, um doppelte Reflexionen zu minimieren. Einziger Unterschied hier: Nimm vorher das rückseitige Etikett ab, um dir mühsames Maskieren oder Rotoskopieren in der Post-Production zu ersparen.

Using the wrong shutter speed either smears the fine details of your product or creates unnatural artifacts that distract the viewer. A professional studio production requires intentional settings that match the specific movement of your subject instead of just following standard rules. Mastering when to stick to the norms and when to break them is the key to a sharp and premium look.

Here is how I adjust my settings to keep the product looking crisp and sharp:

1. I increase the shutter speed for fast product action. Cranking up the shutter past the standard 180 degree rule freezes fast liquid splashes or rotating objects, giving you razor sharp edges in every frame.

2.I never use the shutter as a quick way to fix overexposure. Using neutral density filters or adjusting the light intensity instead keeps the motion blur exactly where I want it without sacrificing image quality.

3. I test my settings under artificial studio lights before recording. Matching the shutter speed to the frequency of the power grid prevents subtle banding and flickering that ruins the shot.

Precise exposure control is the foundation of a clean and professional look.

Here is how I prep my filming environment to maximize my time on set:

1. I create a physical staging area for all equipment. Placing all lenses, batteries, and accessories in a designated spot stops me from searching for tools during the shoot.

2. I pre light the set before the product arrives. Adjusting my key light and backgrounds in advance allows me to immediately start shooting once the client delivers the product.

3. I clean and polish every surface and prop early. Dealing with dust, smudges, and fingerprints before turning on the camera saves me from fixing tedious details in the edit.
