Title: Eye'll Reflect Upon This

Another one from the many I have taken of the little beasties that arrive on my balcony, seduced by humble pots of peanuts. I see myself very lucky to live in such a location, whereas many others are animal lovers and so much abundance is available for them.

As you can see from the photo and title, my balcony is completely reflected in the eye of said Squirrel or Eichhörnchen in German.

Title: Charm Offensive

Decided, with higher shutter speed after listening to some advice from the Pros, to get a few more shorts from my make shift bird table; that consists of a shallow pot of peanuts atop an outside cabinet, then sit back and wait with the 600mm. Sure enough, one after the other, the locals descended and I managed pop off some good shots, although lighting was an issue with the cloudy sky, shutter speed priority with an auto ADL helped.

This smiley little guy (Erasure Jay) whom I have nicknamed "EJ" has been a regular visitor and one of my favourite birds. I am still learning the craft of photography and will improve in time.

Title: Definitions of Brutality

So I went Spider Hunting last night and thankfully, despite the frequent thunderstorms as of late, a good few webs with occupants were still available. Albeit some were at incredibly awkward angles, this ferocious girl was tucking into its most recent capture as I came by, her fangs are quite visible which I was happy about, as so often I come across them and they're already masticating down on whatever they caught that day, so I end up with an interesting face but the fangs are occupied with a half devoured bug.

Title: Piggy Can't Decide (Please Read Desc.)

So as I mentioned in my last photo, I was thinking of bringing back my CPTSD theme, well, I also was considering writing Trigger Warning after the title, but then again you've already seen the photo, so, err, yea... however, that said, this s**t needs to be spoken about, ***Trigger Warning*** below...

Please Note: This is all about education, awareness and support, it is not meant for sympathy or anything else on those lines.

The subject here is perhaps one of the most horrible symptoms concerning CPTSD (Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), that is, Su***de Ideation, that is to become obsessed over the consideration of committing su***de, it works like intrusive thoughts but whilst they can be random, these versions are fixating upon the one subject matter. Many a time I was trapped into this form of thinking, my own personal methodology differed but on one particularly horrifying night, I ended up in intensive care after a failed OD, and other attempts through the years that landed me in psyche wards, often arriving in handcuffs in the back of an ambulance under the es**rt of less than sympathetic police officers.

One of the most hardest and cruellest aspects of Su***de Ideation, is when in the actual act, if the thoughts have driven one to it, is the locked in combination of suffering Depression and Anxiety at the same time, picture this; two tornadoes one clockwise, one anti clockwise and you are caught emotionally between the two, so thus the depression tells you to do it, that you're worthless, life is s**t, etc, but the Anxiety tells you that you are too afraid, you don't know what's on the otherside, there's no turning back, on and on it spins around in your head. Ultimately the anxiety can be your best friend and pulls one back at the last moment, thank god!

I never succeeded, obviously, but f**k me I came close and I would strongly advise, if you are feeling this way, you speak to someone, you have every right to live. Remember, it's truly an emotional bluff (as big and convincing as it may seem), you are better than your thoughts and you are a hero for coming this far, having ever faced such a battle, never, ever give in to it my dear friend. It's actually because you just want the goddamn pain to stop, it can, and it will!

Think of it like this, so many people before you have been there, survived and thereafter life got beautiful for them, you are no exception from that miracle, I am living proof. Now I use my experience to guide others as I hope I am doing here. You live in a universe of infinite possibilities and life can still surprise you. Believe that!

Title Transcending Intelligencia

Another one from my balcony shoot (so to speak), this Eurasian Jay gave me the eyes, both of them, and I decided to have fun with the PP. So thus this is an entirely experimental image as a partial monochrome render. It was suggested to me to setup a better backdrop and so I will in time.

Also I may be bringing back the CPTSD series, not sure yet.

Title: Brigadier Bushytail

I woke up today and for the first time in quite awhile, I felt like being lazy, I decided in the end to rig my 150-600mm G2 Tamron onto the tripod, in my living room, set up some nuts on the balcony, sit on my ass and wait, with the back door left open! Sure enough by the end of the afternoon I had accumulated over 150 shots. Squirrels, Eurasian Jays, Magpies, Woodpeckers and so on. I was so struck by the moustache on this little guy, it had such military high ranking officer feel about it, having trained in the army and met a few officers, this name seemed appropriate.

Title: Majestic Etherealism

Spotted this tiny grasshopper, perched upon a seeding Dandelion, the Dandelion however was unusually tall, about a foot and a half, which in a fresh breeze and in trying to take a Macro with the Raynox was perhaps the most challenging close up I have achieved. The irritating thing I find with Scene Preset Parameters on the Nikon, such as Macro, is that it always sacrifices the shutter speed, which was hopeless for these conditions, so I did this in Manual and accounted for the focus as well, Autofocus was struggling and sliding back and forth, so thus it was a lucky snap that finally got it.

Title: Chakra

There has never been a more greater a time than to start looking after yourself and raising your vibration. Reach for the higher frequency, get off the ci******es, start eating healthy, get more exercise, ditch the soda pops, eat more plants, do the damn research in every sense and for godsakes, wake up! Ask yourself this, are you prepared for what's coming? Do you even know what's coming? Now's the time!

Title: A New Language

So I've been a bit busy recently, working on some new writing projects, plus last week I celebrated 5 years sobriety, had me a bit distracted but now I am looking to get back to my photography. This butterfly I snapped a few weeks ago, it oddly stayed completely motionless as I got closer and closer with the Nikkor 55-200mm VR1, which was a surprise as they usually fly off right when you have the focus on.

It was something to note that I also saw several other photographers had take very similar captures and so I took it as a spiritual omen, hence the title.

Spy Eye Red (Re-Edit)

I ordinarily never do this, but as my own harshest critic I was rather unhappy with the former upload...

..this time I slightly brightened the eye area to give this a better central focus, better poignancy, took out the blue of the water so the Coot looks like it's NOT swimming in petrol, raised the warmth of the Ballrush plants' hues and adopted a more organic and realistic tonality. Thus now I am much happier, this version is way better, I am going to keep the other one up, simply to testify that sometimes a bit of review, self criticism and simply a bit more care can go a long way. I am never afraid show my mistakes, it's how we learn after all!

Title: Embellishment of Spring

I don't ever give a rat's ass about the official word of anything, Spring starts when the flowers start growing and the buds on the trees start to appear, that is Spring, to say otherwise is assuming one knows better than nature itself, when I hear this - the official start of Spring is such and such a date, I just laugh, walk in nature, she decides for herself when to appear in her own good time, sometimes enthusiastically early, other years fashionably late.

The Blue Grape Hyacinth, as tiny and delicate as they are, made an appearance in the front garden and I was thrilled, I love them, Spring is my favourite time of year, particularly May, but here we are in the middle of April, who cares when as a macro photographer's dream field is abundantly starting to arise.

Title: Alien Ghost

I haven't done an abstract shot for quite a long time, and yes, this was completely by accident. Thanks to the inspiration of other macro photographers, I was scrutinising the moss growing on the trees locally, happened upon this unusual plant growth from a pocket of moss and so, on the Nikkor 55-200mm I affixed the DCR250 and thanks to the awkward focus points, I had to switch to manual, rocking on my ankles I got this shot, in PP I noticed it looked so Alien and yet ghostly at the time.

Thus it got me thinking, albeit all things are energetic wave form information, be in one realm of any given dimension, 3D, 4D, or 5D, spirits are absolute, so thus, isn't it unusual how we categorise Aliens and Ghosts into secular partitions? An Alien can surely have a spirit thus upon expiration of "physical" life, can go on energetically to the next realm as a Spirit. Concluding that Homosapiens, Aliens and Ghosts are in fact one and the same thing, acutely a conscious multiplicity of differing, interchangeable and energetic Interdimensional, waveform information constructs of infinite awareness.

Psst: Guess what? You never actually die.
