Olšany Cemetery in Prague. This wonderful cemetery was amalgamated from 12 individual cemeteries and now has an area of over 50 hectares. A first cemetery in Olšany, just outside the city of Prague, was laid out for the first time in 1679/1680 in order to be able to bury quickly the city's victims of the plague. When Emperor Joseph II banned burials in the city center in Prague as well, burials only took place in Olšany from the end of the 18th century which meant that the area had to be expanded several times. At the end of the 19th century the Olšany cemetery was expanded by the city administration to become the municipal necropolis for Prague which was designed for two million burials.

Sophienheilstätte Sanatorium.

The Sophienheilstätte, a former pulmonary sanatorium for tuberculosis patients, is located near Bad Berka in Thuringia. The building, idyllically situated in the woods, was built in 1898 and has been vacant since 1994. Initially, the building served as a spa for the treatment of tuberculosis patients. The original two-story clinic could accommodate up to 80 patients. As capacity was quickly reached, a second wing, sunbathing pavilions in the woods, and sleeping barracks were added as early as the summer of 1899. From 1924 onward, the spa sanatorium was transformed into a clinical sanatorium to offer new treatment methods and corresponding surgical procedures for lung patients. For this purpose, new treatment rooms were created, laboratories were built, and X-ray equipment was acquired.
A new sanatorium was established in 1951 at a different location with the construction of a central clinic for lung diseases and tuberculosis in Bad Berka, with 570 beds.
Since then, the Sophienheilstätte served as a department for urology and orthopedics. After the end of the GDR and the privatization of the clinic in 1991, the urology department was transferred to the Blankenhain District Hospital the following year. After some time, the orthopedic department was also moved to the Bad Berka Central Clinic, and the historic building was vacated in 1993. Since then, it has been left to decay.
