On Sunday I've been out with Snowshoes, did a nice 5k hike in the Allgäu. It's been a nice hike with a crazy group, so just what you need :) Unfortunately the sun didn't really come out and it stayed foggy. Nevertheless, I got some nice photos.

Today is Halloween 🧟‍♂️ and what better way is there to celebrate Halloween than doing it in the Hollywood Studios of Universal, which released many Horror Films like "Halloween" (the story about Michael Myers). Actually, don't watch the latest installment - Halloween Kills - it's not worth the money.
Well, Universal Studios is a Themepark with a couple of great rides and during Halloween Time it's time for the Halloween Horror Nights. Back in 2019 by chance we were in the studios during that time and after a day with lots of fun, for the evening we bought tickets for the Halloween Horror Nights (HHN), a great idea ;)

For HHN a couple of "normal" rides (like the Harry Potter area) and the studio tours are closed. Instead of these rides, you'll find the park is fully "halloweened" with many pumpkins and especially instead of those rides: Mazes! If you get frightened quite easy, this is nothing for you. But the mazes are really great. After each meter you expect something to happen and when there's actually someone coming at you, you definitely get frightened (at least in the beginning). After some time, this became some real fun (especially when the friend, you're traveling with, gets frightened EVERY SINGLE TIME) :D

Instead of the studio tours, you'll have some mazes down in the studios area (there were at least 5 mazes). We did most of them, but to get there, you'll have to go through a tunnel. No, it's not just a normal tunnel, there's a warning: ACID. What do you expect there? Of course, Zombies! A really great setting, which I really enjoyed.

But one of the best things: In the main park are people running around with chainsaws, with REAL chainsaws (except for the running blade) and frighten all the people walking around. They can come after every corner, after every bush.

Here are a couple of pictures from the evening. Maybe, I'll write a full story on the day tomorrow ;)

Yesterday I wasa bit lazy and just visited the castle in Bled. That's also worth a visit, of you have some spare time, use it for a visit.
Today was different, I followed my foot steps from child time. We left Slovenia for the day and drove to Carinthia, Austria. Back in the days when I was still a child, we drove to the Wörthersee in the summer. This is just about an hour from Bled.
First thing to do, was actually the gorge Tscheppaschlucht. A great place for hiking. Near the end of the gorge you reach the devil's bridge (Teufelsbrücke) and the Tschaukofall. That's the reason, why you have been hiking the 3 km. Afterwards it's up to you if you hike just to the Deutscher Peter or if you want to continue another 90 minutes to Bodental. We did the long hike and catched a good place in the bus back.

Later we drove to Reifnitz, the small village we used to stay as a child. I still remembered the Stone Golf from back then and it still exists. And by chance I even had a nice talk with one of our former landladies 😂 she is now a bit older with nearly 90 years (and still fit!)

The last thing for today was to visit Minimumdus, many miniatures of famous buildings and some trains and ships. I loved it as a child and it's still awesome 🤩 with a few exceptions everything is in scale of 1:25

And here are the pictures.

Here are some more impressions from slowenia. A couple of phone pictures 😏

What to do on a sunny Easter Sunday? Well, my plan was to sleep in and do nothing. But my brother actually had a better idea, why not go to Castle Neuschwanstein and meet there? By chance I saw that message and did meet him there.
That was a really good idea, although the Marienbridge (Marienbrücke) was closed for Maintenance (or Corona?? - we didn't see anything looking like maintenance...), we were able to get a good view of the castle. Afterwards we walked back to the Alpsee and had a small picknick.

All in all, a beautiful day. The good thing about Corona is, that not too many people were actually around, on a normal day there would have been thousands of people... Unfortunately, the castles and museum are closed again due to Corona. Anyways, I want to come back later in Spring ;)

Oh beautiful Sedona. I can't wait to get back to Arizona. Normally, this is the time of year I'm visiting the US. Unfortunately 2020 is a bit different. Nevertheless, I wanted to share a Panorama from Doe Mountain in Sedona.
With 1.5 miles, Doe Mountain Trail is a short hike with awesome views on the Red Mountains in Sedona. We've only been there for one night, that's way too less. You can probably be there for a week and you won't have seen everything. I'll be back, hopefully in 2021.

Maybe my next blog post should be about Sedona and not the Grand Staircase (which is also great, just not green :D)

On Day 9 of our Roadtrip in 2018 we've been to the Grand Staircase. We visited a Slotcanyon, went along the Rim of the Bull Valley Gorge, drove to the Grosvenor Arch and have even been to the Kodachrome Basin State Park. As usual, you'll find all details in the Blogpost:

Am 9. Tag meines USA Urlaubs 2018 waren wir im Grand Staircase unterwegs: Slotcanyons, Arches und der Kodachrome Basin State Park. Alle weiteren Infos findet ihr im Beitrag auf meiner Webseite:

Today’s destination was Escalante, a small town in the midst of the Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument – or in short: GSENM. The whole region from Zion to the Grand Canyon in the south and up to Capitol Reef in the east is called “Grand Staircase”. So we’ve already been in the Gra...
