There’s a lot of talk about “corporate” headshots or portraits. Even if this wasn’t commissioned as such, this is still the portrait of a business person. A leader, a culture-bearer. However you want to phrase it or label it, so much of what we are, what we stand for and what we want others to perceive about us gets lost in the traditional “stand and smile in front of a potted plant” image. I like this stuff much better. Having a subject who is willing makes all the difference, so thank you for trusting me, time and time again.

I forgot to mention this… years and years and years ago, this gentleman and I used to wreak havoc on Älmhult during week 46, the fabled, storied, mythical gathering of all things Billy, Ektorp, Metod etc and I have to say these are some of my most cherished professional and personal memories. Thank you for making time for me when I was last in NL for work, and for so candidly sharing, as always. Love you and miss you ❤️

How can I even?

I wish for these photos to speak for themselves, ideally. But I have to say a few words.

continue to invite me into their world, or worlds, where they create beauty, intensity, charm, seduction, play and most importantly inclusion and growth for everyone they come in contact with.

I don’t know how to properly summarize this privilege. But imagine you’re surrounded by an endless stream of generosity, kindness, wild productivity, silliness, extreme professionalism, wonder and awe. That’s where you can start.

Thank you to you, Flockers, but also to all the amazing artists you weave into the fabric of your work. I’m always here for you, at your beck and call, my jaw eternally on the floor.

According to my phone this happened 444 weeks ago… already!? Some behind the scenes from the time when said to me “Alana, you will come to Lithuania and make commercials” and I said “Ok” ❤️

It’s soon that time of year here on Björkö. When the fog blocks out the sun and a calm settles over the otherwise eternally restless sea. When we slide like seals into the crisp water and shudder at the chill. When I immediately bounce back up and out, but others stay and endure. Cold bathing weather. Wild swimming weather (which just means not in a pool but it sounds cool) in what I consider to be one of the most beautiful places on earth.

When someone talks about team sports and you get that feeling in your stomach like “oh no, here we go… “ as if they’re about to preach gospel or hold a lecture about the benefits of playing as part of a team… then you should stop reading now. You obviously are not a team person, which is totally ok, but I am now reminded why
