So, I waste a lot of time on Pinterest. I see a ton of photos of children whose eyes are needlessly edited. So, instead of worrying about copyright infringement, I made my own example. Here are my daughter's beautiful eyes. Can anyone tell me what is wrong with her unenhanced eye? And what makes people think that the eye on the left looks good? Please, if you take photos of children, don't do this when you are editing them!

Today we visited the medieval Christmas market at Burg Lichtenberg near Kusel, Germany. It was amazing but very cold! I only got a few pictures before my fingers were numb!

I visited Amsterdam over the weekend, and I feel really disappointed in myself in terms of photography. Most of my shots were blurry or poorly set up. Also, I forgot to bring my tripod, so I didn't get more than one or two decent night shots, which is a bummer since the sun sets at about 3:40pm. Sigh. Good thing it's only 5 hours away! I'll get you next time, Amsterdam.

Getting a good shot is so hard. Even in perfect conditions, I take several hundred pictures, and I am often only happy with 10. I know that is common, but sometimes it keeps me from reaching for my camera. I am glad that I reached for it today because this happened:

Traveled to Ludwigsburg for the world's largest pumpkin festival. I got so many fantastic photos. My friend came along, and I was able to use her 18-55mm and 10-24mm lenses. (My own kit lens broke, so yes, I know using an 18-55 isn't amazing.)

I did edit these pictures. With two crazy kids in tow, I did not check my ISO, so the pictures were a bit over exposed. I also thought that bumping up the clarity worked well for this particular situation. I didn't adjust the colors...everything was spectacularly colorful, so I didn't need to bump anything up and I didn't tone anything down either. :)
