New year, new direction. 🌊📷
Besides wildlife photography on land, I’m also deeply passionate about the underwater world — and this year I’ll finally share more of my water pictures here.
This green sea turtle (Chelonia mydas) was photographed in Sulawesi – Bunaken (Indonesia), and I’m genuinely proud of this frame.
Also… tell me you see it too: doesn’t it look like “Crush” from Finding Nemo? 🐢😄
Fun fact: Green sea turtles aren’t named for their shell — they’re called “green” because their body fat can have a greenish tint, largely influenced by their mostly plant-based diet. 🌿

-Icelandic local-
On my last trip to Iceland, I couldn’t stop photographing puffins. They’re like tiny ocean spirits — built for wind, cliffs, and the raw sea, but they look like they belong in a cartoon.
What’s your favorite picture?
Did you know? Puffins’ beaks don’t always look this colorful — the bright outer parts are most vivid during breeding season, and after it they shed some of the outer beak plates, looking a bit more muted.

Red-eyed tree frog (Agalychnis callidryas) - a real rainforest icon.
This shot is from my last Costa Rica trip, and I totally fell in love with macro.
The local insect & amphibian world is absolutely packed with opportunities - every night felt like a new adventure.
Fun fact: Red-eyed tree frogs often lay their eggs on leaves hanging over water - when the tadpoles hatch, they drop straight into the water to start life there.

Thousands of frames -

This image became one of the very few I would call perfect. A real moment, no AI!

Tetragonisca angustula - a stingless bee of the tropical rainforest.

Interesting fact:
This stingless bee species uses specialized guard bees at the nest entrance, identifying colony members by scent — a level of organization that rivals much larger animals.

Shortly before our trip to Borneo I was very excited because I really wanted to see the whiskered treeswift. And then it just sat there, as ordered, in the best light.
I hope you like it as much as I do?! 😍.
💡Did you know? The whiskered treeswift is the smallest of 4 species.

The Common kingfisher (Alcedo atthis) is a small kingfisher widely distributed across Eurasia and North Africa. It is amongst the most colorful birds but despite its extraordinary colors, sometimes the Common kingfisher is difficult to see when it is in a dappled shade. Furthermore, due to its shy nature, the Common kingfisher often remains hidden from a human's eye.
💡Did you know? They tunnel into high-sided riverbanks to make a small chamber for their eggs, producing two to three broods a year.

One of the coolest animals you can see at night in Borneo. The eyes reflect the light of the flashlight, so they are easier to find.
The slow loris are nocturnal, tree-dwelling primates that can only be found in Southeast Asia, Indochina and Myanmar.
Although slow lorises are said to be slow movers, they can actually move up to 8 km per night! However, they can remain totally still for hours,
especially when they are waiting to ambush passing prey.
💡Did you know? Slow lorises are the only known venomous primate. Loris bites cause a painful swelling and can cause death from anaphylactic shock in humans.
