Learning to create is also learning to trust the process.
With our younger groups and children who are just beginning at CANELA, we always start drawing with permanent markers.
I truly LoVE this !
When a line can’t simply be erased, children discover that it doesn’t have to be a mistake. It can be changed, transformed, hidden beneath another texture or become the beginning of something completely different.
Along the way, they are not only learning to draw. They are problem-solving, making decisions and building confidence in their own ideas.
As the groups grow and we feel they are ready, we begin introducing the beauty of pencil sketching not in search of the perfect line, but as a new tool to explore.
Pressure, softer lines, shadows, proportion, perspective, details… a completely different way of looking and drawing.
Ignacio is definitely the best on this!
