During my University days, one of my professor asked us - “How can you find how old is the history of a place / city “

After lot of scientific answers from the class, he simply answered - visit the oldest graveyard of the place and you have it .

Zagreb is the first city which I have visited where a graveyard is listed as a must visit tourist attraction.

Remembering the incident from the University, Wifi and me decided to explore the place and tried finding the oldest engraved date :)

After the fasting period now starts the festive season with Durgashtami.

This festival not only signifies the defeat of the evil at hands of Maa Durga but also portrays different roles / Avatar of the Maa Durga and also reminds each of us the place women / girls have in our culture and society !

These traditions have seen centuries and have been tested through different phases of the society and have survived because they are based on sound foundation.

Scientifically it’s period when Sun has changed its position and preparing the body for the change , opportunity to detox the system. Since it’s the beginning of the dull season, the energies are boasted with the festivities !

With that note, wish you a happy Durgaashtami.
