LIFE

Rasmus Kaessmann started taking pictures while climbing Mount Kenya. He still loves the travelling, the intensity of being on a job 24/7. But home is where the heart is and his is firmly rooted in the Bavarian Alps where he lives in a tiny village with his wife and kids, literally under the mountain. If there is fresh powder, he is one of the first on the slopes on the other side of the vall

ey. That’s where his son learned how to ski. Here is where he found his personal hideaway after spending many years in the great big improvisation that had been post unification Berlin.

Foam, forklifts, and a photographer who didn't stay dry.

New work for Kärcher — shot on location at CLAAS in Harsewinkel and with logistics companies Brucker and Kirn. Real places, real work, real foam (mostly on me).

🚣‍♂️ MEISTRO ROWING CAMPAIGN: WHEN THE BEST SHOTS COME WITH A STORY (AND A HEADACHE)

The first final images from our Meistro rowing campaign are live – and yes, these are the ones where I took an oar to the head, earned a concussion, and still made my flight to Slovenia for STIHL the same night. (Priorities.)

This shoot was all about capturing the grit, teamwork, and raw power of competitive rowing. Drones, underwater housings, chase boats – we threw everything at it. And sometimes, the universe threw an oar back. (Lesson: Duck faster.)

Huge shoutout to:

🔹 Meistro for backing our vision (and our bruises)
🔹 Bloom GmbH & Holger Wiesenfarth – absolute legends who turn chaos into art (and have been trusting me to push limits for years)
🔹 The rowers for being machines (and only nearly taking me out)

Sometimes the best work comes with a few battle scars. This one came with a bump, a last-minute flight, and images we love.

More to come – including an image film! (And yes, I wore a helmet after this.)

Want the backstory? Here’s how it really went down – concussion, last-minute flights, and all:
