Welcome to our new episode #3 of Intimate Ibiza.
Our journey this time takes us to Ibiza's beautiful little neighbor island, the smallest of the Balearic islands, Formentera.
The iconic island is known for its clear waters and long beaches set against a backdrop of dunes and pine forests.
Located about nine kilometers south of Ibiza, Formentera covers an area of only 82 square kilometers. Its shape, 19 kilometers long, with a coastline of 69 kilometers, is reminiscent of a dog's bone.
The stunning video footage from Lorenzo Melissari by Break the Logic features soft loving sounds by Elliot Moriarty featured by Cavalli Ibiza. Making us especially proud, Elliot created an extra song "Cavalli Ibiza" for Intimate Ibiza Episode #3.
Please enjoy the amazing footage of Ibiza's little sister island, and please be mindful of the protection of our nature, the seas and their creatures. This is especially evident when tourists flock to Formentera in the summer (there are 450,000 tourists per year for every 12,000 inhabitants). Everyone can do their part.
Elliot: Being asked to create a soundtrack for Intimate Ibiza, was an honor. I am aware of their work in creating beautiful videos, and showing the World just how stunningly magical Ibiza is.
For the set, I wanted to include tranquil, soothing melodies along with a few moments in which things set up a bit, with some eclectic uplifting beats; it was very important that I tried to bring the mix to life with the tracks that I selected. The opening track is one I created purely for Intimate Ibiza, a melodic starting point, with elements and sounds I feel represent the blissfulness of Ibiza.
Seeing Lorenzo’s footage with the set I have put together, I think works wonderfully. We are both very passionate about creating special moments, and I feel that the music and video fit perfectly together.
I hope everyone enjoys this episode just as much as I did put the mix together.
Lorenzo: There are moments in life when we must pause, breathe, and embrace the beauty that surrounds us. It was with this mindset that I embarked on a special adventure, waiting patiently for the perfect time to capture the essence of Formentera, a hidden gem of an island. Today, I am thrilled to share the culmination of that journey with all of you.
For months, I nurtured the idea of creating a video that would convey the magic of this place, but I knew deep down that timing was everything. So, I bided my time, allowing the island to transition from its serene, intimate moments to the arrival of curious travelers.
During my preparation, a dear friend, Barbara, introduced me to Elliot Moriarty's enchanting hour of music. Her eyes sparkled with enthusiasm as she shared the tale of how Elliot poured his heart and soul into this remarkable composition. I knew that Elliot's masterpiece would be the perfect companion for this visual voyage.
Finally, the day arrived when the stars aligned, and I set sail on a boat, armed with my camera and a heart brimming with anticipation. As I ventured into Formentera's embrace, I couldn't help but marvel at the island's grace, its untouched beauty dancing in harmony with the gentle waves.
Every frame I captured was a testament to the rhythm of life, the notion that some moments simply cannot be rushed. I strolled through charming villages, pausing to admire vibrant bougainvillea cascading down whitewashed walls. I explored secluded beaches, feeling the warmth of the sand beneath my feet as the turquoise waters beckoned me to dive in.
The island began to awaken, painting the landscape with an intoxicating blend of colors and sounds. It was a symphony of life, reaching its crescendo as Formentera embraced the arrival of a new season.
And through it all, Elliot's music served as the guiding force, intertwining effortlessly with the visuals. It added a layer of emotion that words alone couldn't convey, capturing the essence of each passing moment in its melodic embrace.
Now, as I share this video with you, I invite you to embark on your virtual journey to Formentera. Let the sights and sounds transport you to this magical island, allowing your imagination to wander through its hidden coves, sun-kissed cliffs, and vibrant streets.
