I arrived before sunrise, hoping for interesting light over the Black Sea.

What caught my attention wasn’t the sky at first, but these old rails leading into the water.

At a glance, they look abandoned. Rusted by salt, covered in seaweed and shaped by years of exposure to the elements.

But appearances can be deceiving.

The ramp is still in use today.

Standing there in the quiet of the early morning, I found that contrast fascinating. A structure that looks as if nature has almost reclaimed it, yet continues to serve its purpose day after day.

As the first light reached the rocks and the clouds began to glow, it felt like a reminder that age and usefulness are not always opposites.

Some things simply endure.

Do you see an ending - or a beginning?

When I first opened this RAW file, it didn’t feel like anything special. The light was flat, the atmosphere wasn’t quite there, and the image certainly didn’t look the way it does now.

But sometimes a photograph isn’t about what the camera captured—it’s about what you saw in that moment.

I could already imagine the story: a lone seed, hanging on for one last moment before the wind carries it away. So I decided to invest the time. After countless local adjustments and more masks in Lightroom than I’d like to admit, the image slowly became what I had envisioned in the field.

This is a reminder that not every photograph reveals its potential at first glance.

These two spots are my most visited macro photography locations — and they’re just a 10-minute walk from home.

Every time I come here, I discover something new: a different insect, a hidden spider web, a fresh composition, or a detail I somehow missed before.

It’s a reminder that you don’t always need to travel far to find inspiration. Sometimes the best subjects are waiting right around the corner.

These places have become my outdoor studio, and they continue to surprise me with every visit.

Not everything needs to be exotic to be fascinating.

This is a common dandelion—something most of us have seen thousands of times.

Yet from a different perspective, it looks like an alien world filled with intricate patterns and textures.

Macro photography has taught me that beauty often isn’t hidden. It’s simply overlooked.
