Sebastian Fath Contemporary

Galerie für zeitgenössische Kunst Sebastian Fath Contemporary wurde im März 2003 gegründet. Jährlich finden bis zu zehn Ausstellungen statt.

Die Galerie befindet sich in einem großzügigen Jugendstilgebäude zwischen der Christuskirche und dem Wasserturm, dem Wahrzeichen der Stadt Mannheim, inmitten einer der schönsten Jugendstilanlagen Deutschlands. Der Schwerpunkt des Programms liegt auf reduzierten Formen internationaler Gegenwartskunst. Die Galerie erweitert kontinuierlich ihr Programm durch die Aufnahme junger Nachwuchskünstler aus

dem In- und Ausland. Das Spektrum reicht von Malerei, Fotografie, Bildhauerei bis hin zu Installationen und Videokunst. Daneben beteiligt sich die Galerie regelmäßig an Gemeinschaftsprojekten öffentlicher und privater Institutionen wie Galerien, Museen und Kunstvereinen sowie Privatsammlungen. Neben der Ausstellungstätigkeit berät die Galerie Sammler und Unternehmen im Aufbau und der Betreuung von Kunstsammlungen und der Ausstattung von Räumlichkeiten. Die Galerie ist Mitglied im Bundesverband Deutscher Galerien (BVDG) und im Galerienverband Rhein-Neckar.

〰️ COLORFUL 〰️

Nan Hoover is best known as a pioneer of video and performance art. Less well known are the paintings she made during the 1960s and 1970s. Her figures are portrayed in moments of intimacy or in powerful and confident poses. Since 2024, two paintings of Hoover’s early period as a painter complement the collection of the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam. One of those is currently on view in the museum’s permanent exhibition presentation.
