HDR doesn’t work for every scenario. The image should really live through its intense highlights that get emphasized by the bright screen. Capturing and editing these photos with the X2D II and Phocus Mobile 2 is very straight forward. Sharing them on the other side isn‘t as easy as many Social media platforms don’t support them in late 2025.

All photographed in the middle of a dark forest night, where the new HDR files reveal an incredible depth of detail – from the subtle textures of the pavilions to the brilliance of the starlit sky. The HDR quality makes these scenes shine brighter than ever on today’s displays, giving architecture under the night sky a new voice.

Form meets function with the brand-new X2D II.

What strikes me most isn’t just the incredible image quality – it’s the way this camera feels in hand. The muted graphite-grey finish with stealth-black lettering gives it a timeless aesthetic, while the redesigned ergonomics make it a true photographer’s tool.

My favorite feature so far? The ultra-bright HDR display that now tilts downwards. Whether I’m shooting low architectural perspectives or composing overhead details, the flexibility of this screen changes the way I work in the field. And seeing HDR images directly on the display – exactly as they’ll shine on today’s devices – is a revelation.

Lost in a snowstorm in Dresden with the Hasselblad X2D, ARCA-SWISS Pico, and Pentax 645 45mm. ❄️ The city transformed into a white dream, reminding me of the iconic New York blizzards. The crisp details, the way the snow softened the city lights—it was the perfect scene to test this setup.
