There aren't too many pax flights at LEJ, but a lot of cargo aircrafts coming in and out thanks to the big DHL hub. Another nice aspect of LEJ is its variety of aircraft types - from short-haul passenger jets up to the huge Antonov freighters. If you're lucky, you can even catch the An-225 in there!

As promised, I also have a better photo of our rare visitor F-GUGE on Sunday. 😉 Unfortunately also not perfect as the Tamron I'm currently working with is slightly damaged and my new gear hasn't arrived yet. Hoping to get a chance to get it next weekend. 😉

It was back in 2013 when I spotted my first widebody jet. It was during a stopover at PMI on my way back home from FAO. This A330-200 (D-ALPD) was the one that finally turned me into a spotter. Having seen only narrowbodies so far, it immediately fascinated me. One of the many memories of me connected to Air Berlin. I also owe them:
- my first Airbus flight (same day I spotted the A330)
- amazing memories of last year's Air Events Flight Academy, including a very special flight with their A319 D-ABGR, now flying for Eurowings, and my first time in a cockpit
- my passion for collecting aircraft scale models as it all started with an A330 (D-ALPJ) as well
- a funny moment my boyfriend and me will always remember
- some great pictures like this one
So sad to know that they will cease operations today. Farewell, , and thank you for everything.

Can't believe that will transfer six pretty new Airbus A321's in Y220 configuration to Thomas Cook Airlines GB and get five Boeing 757-300's in exchange, all between 16.5 and 19 years old, three in Y275 and two in Y280 configuration. Pitch 29". What a pity, I loved the A321!

Such a pity that these aircrafts are out of service now. :( I remember flying HAJ-ZRH-HAJ with ' Avros in December 2012. These two flights were some of the best I ever had. I will miss the quiet and spacious cabin and, as a spotter, the unique appearance of the Jumbolino. Goodbye, little jet, hope they'll find someone who will keep you flying!
