Last week, I spoke with residents of Michelstadt about their memories and expectations for the Odenwaldhalle – a historic venue in the center of the city that has hosted concerts, festivals, exhibitions, and community events for decades. In recent years, the hall has been used less frequently and has lost some of its former importance. It is now being renovated to make it safer, more functional, and welcoming for future generations.
Christiane Henschel and Jenny Weisgerber from Lebenswert Odenwald e.V. emphasized the importance of diversity, inclusion, and creating spaces where people can connect.
Rainer Hofmann from the PSV Schützenverein highlighted how tradition and a strong sense of community have shaped the club’s history and continue to bring people together.
The conversations showed a common vision: that the renewed Odenwaldhalle will once again serve as a vibrant meeting place for cultural life and community in Michelstadt.
