Some of you may still remember the good old „View-Master,“ which displayed stereoscopic 3D images from circular discs when you looked through it. It was a highlight of the early 1960s. The idea now is to create a hologram (H1) of the front of the View-Master itself—one that, when viewed later through the two eyepieces of a second hologram (H2), reveals the object—in this case, Cologne Cathedral—in 3D as well. To achieve this, I have split the object beam into four separate beams: two beams illuminate the front of the device, while two beams illuminate the back through a pane of frosted glass. Please let me know if this approach might actually work the way I envision it in theory. All beam paths are equidistant from the holographic plate. I still need to determine the optimal beam ratio for H1.
