The rock was sharp, and not all the holds were solid. This climb was quite a challenge to figure out, but it suited my style perfectly.

That was such a fun boulder to climb!

This boulder is called Black Face (6b) - boulder area Powerlines. But always had me start to the right of it, which is an extension of the boulder, and I can imagine it makes it a bit harder. So it definitely wasn’t a warm-up for me… especially as a beginner climber!

Hueco Face (6b+) at 8 Days of Rain!

That thing gets me every single time! This is one of the most beautifully shaped boulders in Rocklands and such a rad climb (in my eyes). But I struggle with it quite a bit. I have to throw a pretty high heel hook, and it freaks me out.

I made progress and got close to topping it out, but I couldn’t link all the moves together this time.

So I came back to it later in my trip. I got all the way to the top and then fell off the last hold. 😭 I also got a flapper on the palm of my hand. Yayy… that meant resting for the rest of the day and the following one so it could heal.

This is still one of my projects, and I’m looking forward to coming back and finally sending it. 💪

It’s an easy one, but those deserve to be celebrated too. I did this climb a few years ago, but when I came back this year, I couldn’t send it again. So I left it for a while and came back later in the trip. Once we figured out the start, I finally managed to send it. 💪

You can find La Fissure (6a) at the Powerlines climbing area in Rocklands, right next to L’Arête (7a).
