Civil weddings are often seen as the smaller part of a wedding celebration, especially when a bigger ceremony or celebration is planned for another day. But they hold just as much meaning.

Nicole and Fabian’s civil wedding was filled with genuine emotions, quiet moments and the people closest to them.

From a photographer’s perspective, I love how much there is to capture: the anticipation before the ceremony, the first looks, the tears, the laughter and the moment everything suddenly feels real. Even when another celebration follows, the civil wedding is still such an important part of the story and deserves to be remembered in the same beautiful way.
Often, it is the closeness and simplicity that make these moments so meaningful and that is exactly why I love documenting civil weddings so much.

There is something incredibly special about a wedding that brings people together from all over the world.

For Tina and David, that meant celebrating with family who had traveled all the way from China.
Their wedding at the castle couldn’t have been more elegant. And while the weather had its own plans, it never changed the feeling of the day. We simply adapted, moved the exit indoors, and when the rain paused for a little while, we slipped outside to create these portraits.

Some of my favorite images are often the ones that weren’t planned.
A reminder that weddings are never about following the perfect timeline. They’re about celebrating your people, embracing whatever the day brings, and trusting that the most beautiful moments will always find their way to you.

Some wedding days just have a magic of their own.
Henrike and Michel’s wedding was one of them.

More than 100 guests, endless laughter, people singing and dancing before dinner had even started and a warmth that could be felt in every single moment of the day.

I’ve often heard people describe Henrike and Michel as the kind of people who bring others together. The kind of people who make friends feel like family. And honestly, that was exactly what this day felt like.

The weather kept us on our toes with sunshine, rain and sunshine again. But somehow, everything always fell perfectly into place. Every time the clouds cleared, we found ourselves outside creating more memories, more portraits and more moments together.

And in the end, I don’t think anyone will remember the weather.

They’ll remember the atmosphere.

The joy, the hugs, the dancing, the conversations and the feeling of being surrounded by people who truly love you.

A perfect wedding day in every sense of the word. 🤍

Some days I still can’t believe this is my job.

Being trusted with people’s most meaningful memories, witnessing emotions as they happen, traveling to beautiful places, meeting incredible people and turning fleeting moments into something they can hold onto forever.

I truly love what I do, and I don’t think I’ll ever take that for granted. 🥹
